For anyone who is an active parent and plans on being on the go (literally, on foot!) with their child with them, I would highly recommend the Kelty KIDS FC 3.0 Frame child/baby carrier.  This child carrier is reinforced with a steel frame that will keep your child extremely secure even on the most rugged outdoorsy trails.  Many times strollers are not practical if you are going camping, and not all children are at the age where they really want to be walking everywhere mommy and daddy are.  This carrier supports children up to 50 lbs and does a good job of dispersing their body weight over your back so as to not injure yourself.  The baby carrier is great because it has lots of well thought out additions including storage pockets on the side, a covering for either sunny or rainy weather, extra straps that you can attach toys to, etc.  But not only is your child protected; you are as well with padded straps and fabric that helps keep moisture away from your body.  Definitely a great buy if you are going to be out and about and want your child to come too!

The kelty child carrier is perfect for the busy mom very lightweight and durable . it feels very safe and looks good too. being a mother of two it is nice to have something lightweight. it also is quite fashionable andcomes in great colors.kelty is very adjustable so the baby is comfortable whether he is sleeping or not. the various pouches can hold many items such as diapers ,formula,bottles,and wipes.the rain guard is also a blessing it also works great with the wind too. There are a couple things I dont care for is that you can not find it at target or wal-mart,and its a little spendy,but you get what you pay for.Also many other carriers dont care about the babies views but with the kelty 3.0 child carrier has a great view for the little one.  I have found that my baby sleeps very sound also in the kelty 3.0 child carrier better than she does in her crib due to it being so comfortable.

We received this pack for our baby shower from our best friends and it was one of the best gifts we got. We were avid hikers/backpackers before my son was born so as soon as he was holding his head up he was in the pack and hiking the high sierras. Even when my son was tiny he was comfy in this carrier. The first 5 hour hike we went on he fell asleep instantly! Since I'm not the one who usually wears it I will have to pass on my husbands opinion on how comfortable it is. He loves it and considering how extreme some of our hikes are, I think that says a lot. There is lots of padding, a great sun shade, and the best part is how the pack stands up itself when you put it down (great for all those breaks on the trail) The only con is once or twice we got a huge gust of wind and the little removable canopy on top blew part way off, but other than that, this is a great pack and has last us a year already as my son has grown.

The backpack's quality of construction matches it's cost. The "user manual/schematic" is rather brief and attached as a label tag. Would have rather liked to have a manual, but yeah... Still very woth it and I can take my little nephew on hiking trails. A rain cover and a convex mirror (recommended) are extras, but not included in the base price, but are worth the extra.

I was on the search for a great, durable, comfortable, backpack carrier that I could use for both daily trips out of the house and on hikes on the weekends.  I read a ton of online reviews and thought the Kelty TC 3.0 would be perfect.  I loved the look and the features.  It does have a great sunshade and plenty of storage space.  The features are well thought out and it is quite adjustable for various sized people.  It seemed to fit my 5'10" husband well and he thought it was comfortable and easy to use.  Unfortunately, it did not work so well for 4'8" me.  Even at the smallest adjustments, the waist strap was too large for me and so the carrier didn't carry the weight right on my hips.  Thus, it was uncomfortable and just felt strange.    My son looked fairly comfortable in it and loved looking around.  The backpack is a little heavy and bulky, but most backpacks of this size are.  If you are a normal sized person, this is a great carrier.
