This cereal is definitely worth getting and trying! It has plenty of berries in the box, unlike other cereals that put the berries all on top. There are tons per box to allow for a good bowl everytime until the box is empty! It is usually reasonably priced everytime. I have tried plain flakes and the berries added makes it much better. I personally do nt thik the berries get too soggy when I'm eating the cereal. They stay fresh from beginning to end. I have had other cereals with added berries, and this Kellogg's Special K red berries is better than those. The others do not have as many berries. One of the down side is that the cereal does not have a high amount of fiber.  It also seems to have a lot of sugar, but I'm not sure if that is from the berries or if added sugar is the culprit.  All and all I think the cereal is still healthier than other sugar-filled cereals and it tastes just as good.

I used to buy this cereal a lot in the past, but I got tired of it and moved on to different brands and flavors...especially the natural and organic cereals by Kashi and Cascadian Farm.  I felt like a change in my cereal routine so I came back to this one, hoping I would like it more than I did last time.

The main reason why I bought **Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal **is because it is really low in fat and calories.  Actually, it's fat-free and only has 110 calories per serving.  It contains 3g of fiber which is average for cereal that isn't hyped up to be high in fiber.

This cereal consists of rice and wheat flakes and dehydrated strawberry slices.  The flakes are pretty good since they contain whole grain wheat and wheat bran.  The rice definitely adds to the crunchy texture of the flakes, but they do eventually get soft towards the end of the bowl.  One thing I'm not crazy about is the texture of the strawberries.  They are tough before they reconstitute in the milk, but even though they do get softer, they maintain a weird texture.

Overall, this cereal is good health wise, but I'm not crazy about the texture of the strawberries.  I'll probably buy it again, but that's because it good for me.

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

This is my favorite snack or breakfast. I don't like a really sweet cereal. I love fruit. This has just the right amount of strawberry's in it. I also love it as a snack without milk.

Special K Red Berries is the Best Berry Cereal On The Market

    By

    from Rome, PA

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

I have tried several "berry" cereals in the past with less than stellar results. Many cereals have berries that go from overly dry and hard to excessively mushy and unpleasant. On a whim I decided to give Special K Red berries cereal a try. I am so glad that I did. The special k cereal flakes are perfectly made, not taking on any cardboard properties like other "healthy" cereals. The berries are slightly tart giving the perfect complimentary flavor to the flakes, making it possible to no add additional sugar while making it taste good. The berries themselves are in an appropriate proportion to the flakes and are not too dry. Also, once the berries are in the milk they do not take on the mushy texture that I have experienced in the past. These berries are soft and moist making for a pleasant eating experience. I would suggest trying this cereal to anyone who likes strawberries and cereal.

Does not compare to real strawberries

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

Kellogg's makes many delicious cereals however Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal is not one of them. The flakes in the Special K Red Berries Cereal taste great. They taste a lot like the original Special K. The berries that are in the cereal are not good. The berries honestly taste like dried cardboard.

The Delicious Way To Eat Healthy & Still Have Great Flavor!

    By

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

Special K is a great way to eat a healthy breakfast, afternoon snack, midnight snack or before bed snack! We all have those times when we want to go off our diet, but eating the Red Berries Special K cereal makes you under the illusion that you are not on a diet. It seriously tastes really good. I could eat a large bowl of it and not even realize. It is so easy to down this cereal in a few minutes, the taste is THAT good. The berries are dried strawberries that become re-hydrated in the milk, giving off yet another great flavor. The flakes are sweet and glazed with a honey like flavor. This cereal is a great starter for someone who needs a good tasting change of diet. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day now, so why not treat yourself with a sweet berry desert-like cold cereal meal? I know everyday that I do not have Special K cereal, I regret it. Now go stock up! You won't want to put down your spoon.

    Pretty Good

    By

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal is pretty good. It includes the traditional rice/wheat flakes with the addition of chunks of strawberries. The strawberries are decent, I mean, they are dehydrated so as to be included in a box of manufactured cereal. I think that in the future, I will just stick with the original flakes and add my own sliced fruit or blueberries to it. This is not a bad cereal though, and it makes for a quick and filling breakfast.

    GREAT TASTE!

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

It was hard for me not to get a second bowl of this! Special K Berries has dried berries in the cereal, but becomes and tastes like real berries once it touches the milk. However, if you don't eat them right away and let them sit, they'll become soggy. Overall GREAT taste!

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

Kellogg's Special K Red Berries is my favorite cereal, hands down. There isn't one best part about this cereal. I love the dehydrated strawberries in it! They give it almost a chewy texture that's perfect. The flakes are perfectly crunchy and sweet. I can eat this cereal plain. It's really good for you, also. I highly recommend this cereal for anyone looking for a new cereal or trying to lose weight!

    Good cereal

    By

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

I tried the special K diet for a while and definitely had my fill of Special K cereal. I enjoy this brand much more then the original Special K. The berries add a little sweetness as well as another texture to help deal with the boring flakes.

My thing I found was not only did I get sick of the cereal quick, but it didn't fill me up as fast. I have found lately that cereals that carry much more protein and fiber fill me up great and I don't need to grab for that second bowl. I was always still hungry after eating a bowl. As well as I probably didn't stick to the correct portions in eating the special K cereal on the Special K diet. Mine always looked a little bit bigger then they should have been. But I just don't find it very filling.

it is tasty and it does have some nutrients and it's low in calories. It's definitely a better alternative than any of those sugary cereals. Go ahead and give it a try.

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

This cereal right here.....is heaven. I absolutely love it. The flakes have a nice, lightly sweetened taste and crunch. The berries add a good amount of awesome tartness. The milk is always left sweet and satisfying. I thoroughly enjoy these. These are amazing. Go Kellogg's for this one!

    Very good cereal

Comments about Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Cereal:

I love cereal. Not only is Special K a very good tasting cereal, but it is good for you. They even have a Special K challenge. You eat the cereal two times a day and the third meal can be anything within reason. You can lose up to like eight pounds just by doing this. I tried the challenge and I lost like seven pounds with no problem. This is an awesome cereal and awesome brand. They have several different flavors. I will say no all healthy food have to taste bad. Special K is the perfect example of that. I would recommend this cereal to anyone. Even if your not trying to lose weight, this is a very good tasting cereal and a very good value. I always say you get what you pay for, but in this case you pay very little and get a lot in return. The cereal is a must try. I also love the fruit yogurt flavor. It is one of my favorites. Kellogg's is a brand that many trust so why not try one of their healthy options.
