Only 90 Calories

After a late night at the office a few weeks ago I arrived at the train station a little hungry. I knew I had about an hour before I'd be home and needed to get something to eat. I couldn't bring myself to go to McDonald's or any of the other fast food joints. So I wandered around one of the little newsstands/convenient stores until I ran across the Special K Bars. Now, I am not one who typically goes for these types of snacks (I'm usually grab a candy bar). But I am trying to eat better the ingredients on this one were a bit different. Surprisingly Tasty

I had these for the first time a few weeks ago. I figured they would be dry and flat tasting, like a lot of the other so-called "health bars." But I was pleasantly surprised. They were very sweet. They are also the perfect portion size for an afternoon snack. I recommend them highly.

On my never ending quest to find satisfying, yet healthy snack foods, I happened to come across a Special K blueberry bar.

I have to admit, this is a pretty tasty snack. There is a white frosting on top as well as pieces of blueberries within the 0.81 oz. bar. I finished it within 4-5 bites, but afterwards my sweet tooth was totally satisfied. Even better, there are only 90 calories in each bar, which doesn't make you feel guilty!! Nutrition facts below:

Calories: 90 - Fat Calories: 15 - Total Fat: 1.5g - Sat. Fat: 1g - Sodium: 90mg - Protein 1g.

I really love Special K cereals so I was excited when they came out with a snack bar, and they didn't let me down. I am not really a breakfast person, so these bars are the perfect size to start you on your day and give you enough energy until lunch. I love the taste of the blueberries offset by the sweet icing. They are a perfect portion size and low in calories. These are a great snack and easy for on the go.

I like Special K cereal, but these bars weren't what I was expecting. I was expectingit to have a lot of the cereal taste, and a little of the blueberry taste. Instead, whatever they drizzle on the top of it was overwhelming and it was just way too sweet for a breakfast food, which is what I bought them for.

I love the new Kellogg Special K Blueberry Bar! Yes, it's sweet. No, it's not a breakfast type bar. It's a nice afternoon snack in between lunch and dinner. At only 90 calories, it's not that bad. I like the strawberry ones too.

These bars take the edge off of your sweet-tooth craving~
