I will admit it, I love sushi. I regularly go to Naniwa near my office. We take the kids or go with friends to Tank, Bob San or Kamahachi. Last year we went to Matsuhisa in Aspen one of Nobu's famous sushi restaurants. I tell you this not to say that I am a sushi expert. I am not. I just really appreciate great sushi and love it when we have a great experience.
I tell you all this so that you can put my comments about Kaze in context. I think that Kaze just might be the most innovative and possibly the best sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago. They have a great tasting menu there where the chef just keeps bringing out new and different things you have not tried until you cry uncle. That along with the Sake tasting make it an near perfect experience.
The ambiance at Kaze is, but not great. We were there over the summer and they tried to seat us in the off kilter table in the corner of the outdoor deck. I like sitting at the bar but only with a few people.
You gotta try it and tell me if you like it!
