best site I've found recently as far as airfare search engines go: it operates on the same principles as other popular travel search sites, but seems to get results much more quickly and also has found me the lowest prices on several trips of any site I've… read full review »

I found out about this metasearch engine by reading a Viewpoints review when I was planning domestic travel over the summer. I was pretty excited. It saved me $40, or almost 20% of my fare, so I was eager to get the same result on my upcoming trip to Japan. The trip was a push, so I was feeling… read full review »

Paddle on over to Kayak — Sure, you can find cheap flights, hotel deals and cruise discounts. But you can also set up a customized homepage so that when you log on, you see the latest fare deals to all the places you like to go, without the hassle of being emailed the flights. Let's face it, while it's nice to get emails, you rarely have the actualy ability to follow through on a good deal. With kayak, you just jump in the boat when you DO have free time, and see what they've got cookin'. — Libby's Hot Tip — With its high traffic, the Google ads on Kayak are going to… read full review »

Going to England can be expensive but staying in England is always expensive. Especially the way the dollar is weighing in these days.  Kayak found my boyfriend and I a nice hotel in Kensington for a resonable price. Not only was the description of the room spot on... so was the description of the staff. Great people, lovely service. All in all I'll definietly be using Kayak again and again.  — Cheers. —… read full review »

I am an American living in China and shop frequently for plane tickets to come home.  In the past, I have always used Expedia to find the best prices, but recently I've used kayak.com to search for travel deals, and have been very pleased by the experience. — — Kayak.com does not book plane tickets or hotel rooms itself, like Expedia and Orbitz do; instead, it allows the user to comparison-shop between a multitude of airlines or hotels, displaying the rates for all and then taking the customer to the website offering the tickets or room the customer wishes to book.  In… read full review »

I first used Kayak when hunting for flights and have found many deals through it.  I love that you can filter searches based on take-off/landing times and can search surrounding airports. But what I really love about it is the hotel searches.  It allows you to find hotels in big cities and small no name towns.  My favorite part has to be that you can view the results in a variety of ways including a map.  This has been particulary helpful as I've been planning a long trip and while a hotel might be in a town/city I'm passing it's actually rather far from the road I'm… read full review »

I have been researching travel sites for years.  Kayak of one of several sites that searches dozens of other sites, as well as the airlines themselves.  By searching so many sites, they attempt to locate the best possible price.  Previously, I have found them to be among the lowest fare providers.  However, since October 2007, I have found them not providing the lowest price.  In fact, on many international trips that I have researched, I have found KAYAK to be as much as $100 more than a couple of other sites that I have been using.  No one site is always going… read full review »

I like that Kayak compares prices for most airlines including the discounted carriers.  Another nice feature is that you can include surrounding airports in your search to locate the best fare and times for your needs.  Once I find what I'm looking for I go to the actual site that offers the best price just to make sure it's the same as Kayak's listing and then book directly so I avoid duplicate fees from Kayak and the direct website.  Usually, you'll find 3 prices within a few dollars of each other after your search... the carrier, maybe Orbitz, and… read full review »

Kayak.com is very helpful for an easy and quick way to search many sites at once. Their site is simple yet has all of the functions and options to create a search according to your needs. I really enjoy their buzz page which lets you search the cheapest, most recent fares that people have booked for certain cities or areas. — The only issue I dislike about Kayak.com is that sometimes I've been able to find a cheaper fare on an airlines direct website so apparently they aren't always able to find the cheapest fare out there anywhere. — Otherwise it is a great source for knowing… read full review »

When I discovered this it was such a time (and money saver). It is so nice to have a website do all the searching and comparing for you. I also check individual websites but this gives you a great start. It is also handy all the ways you can narrow down a search to find the exact information to suit your needs. My travel agent actually recommended I use this search engine rather than AAA because of their high booking fees and the fact this searched so well. I also like the fact it takes you to their website so that you feel more secure using a name site. Why didn't someone think of… read full review »

I've tried out many websites for finding good travel deals, and kayak.com is definitely one of the best.  It searches almost all of the major airlines as well as the other discount websites (like expedia, travelocity, etc.)  An exception is southwest, which doesn't seem to show up most of the time.  Overall, though, I think it's the best, and easiest way to find a good deal.  Oh, and be sure to click all the way through to the real page - sometimes its actually cheaper than kayak lists on its search page (but usually its right… read full review »

Kayak is a good place to start off your traveling search.  Kayak gives you a variety of information, such as: hotels, flights, cruises, etc. — BUT....I personally have had a little difficulty with the links they provide. —  Do not think Kayak will find the perfect vacation spot or travel arrangements, but they will link you with the sites that can.  They eliminate some of the work for you.....and that is always a good thing when you are trying to save time in the long run. —… read full review »

I love Kayak!  It does most of the hard work for me, and it feels like I am constantly booking travel.  I have had GREAT success using it for air travel, but have recently used it for hotels and rental cars too with positive results.  — It has become my first stop for travel searches and I find myself using it as a verb "have you kayaked that yet?  Try it - you'll love it!  And best of all, no extra fees if you find the best fare on this site. —… read full review »
