I would have to say Katharine Hepburn would have to be on the top of my list as far as classy favorite actresses.  I think I have seen every movie she was in and her as a person intrigued me too.  How she handled herself, her laugh, her strength, her style her relationships, Independence, beauty and her spunk.

20 years prior to her passing in 2003 A. Scott Berg found a friend in Katharine.  She took him along as she talked about her life. Her fond memories of her acting days (Movies: "The Philadelphia story", "Brining up Baby", "African Queen" and many other fantastic movies). her relationships with Tracy, her ex husband Ludlow Smith, Cary Grant, and Howard Hoghes to name a few.

This read is fast paced book, and as Berg goes along with Katharine over the years you feel like you are there as well.  This is really Berg remembering his time with Katharine rather then the typical biography.  She did know he was keeping track of what she was saying and encouraged it. As her assistant (Phyllis Welbourn) of many years told him. "She needs someone to confide in and open up before she dies".

This wonderful book wasn't allowed to be put on the market until her passing.  I might be dyslexic, but this is a book I really got my teeth into, soaked me in and will be re-reading it because  it is such a great read, Katharine Hepburn was such a fantastic lady and so pleased that she and A. Scott Berg allowed us to share in her life.
