Love the color and the shimmer!

Comments about Kat von D True Romance Eyeshadow Pallet in Memento Mori:

These shadows really cover and stay put; I have used them with and without primer and had a lot of luck with them lasting and really holding their color over the course of the day, or night.
I like to use these with a little water to foil them; just wet your brush some and get your shadows a bit damp before you put them on and they last twice as long and have greater color. Once they dry I also like to dust a little silver eye glitter over them to bring the sheen out more.
These are also a great base; they blend great with other shadows and you can do a smokey eye in colors with these without worrying that they will settle into your eyelid creases and giving you lines.
These did work better with primer for me; the only downside I had to deal with was that these smudged easier than I would have liked and didn't stay crisp in place. I did have some bleeding of color at the corners of my eyelids and when I washed my face later it was harder to remove than some shadows I've used.

Kat Von D Palette's are the best!

Comments about Kat von D True Romance Eyeshadow Pallet in Memento Mori:

I've experienced every high end brand out there and Kat Von D is the best. Best quality and best colors. The colors are unique and blend very nicely. However, if you have sensitive eyes and get the shadow in them it WILL burn. So be careful if your eyes are sensitive. There is fallout during application as with any highly pigmented shadow but that doesn't bother me. That can easily be brushed away. Kat Von D shadows are highly pigmented and really nice non-boring colors so all you plain jane's out there this may not be for you!

Memento Mori is a multitasker

By

Comments about Kat von D True Romance Eyeshadow Pallet in Memento Mori:

This has got to be one of the best buys of 2010. The colours are super rich, last a while, blend easily. Fallout (dusting on your face after applying makeup) wasn't a problem. Every shadow can and does double duty so well. I love the peachy shade on my upper cheek bones, the bronzey colour as a bronzer, the gold as a highlighter. My fave combos so far are a mermaid/cleopatra look with the bronze, gold and teal. And the black sparkle shadow is great at lining.

Recently a friend and makeup artist used this on me for an event and even he was surprised at the quality and pigmentation. I tend to buy from Nars and Urban Decay but after testing this in store, I bought this and have never been so happy.

My only cons are that these colours don't all play well together. I find I have to use this palette and others to get the right look. That and these colours are very intense, would never use them for daytime or office looks. But for a night out, this will cause heads to turn.

Great summery shades.

Comments about Kat von D True Romance Eyeshadow Pallet in Memento Mori:

I have most of Kat Von D's palettes and this one is definitely very different from the rest. Kat Von D tends to release darker, more intense colors so it was a surprise to see vibrant pastels.

Usually the Kat palettes all contain Lucifer, which is a matte, black shade. Thankfully, this palette does not. It instead has Tijuana, which is a black shade with reddish/orangeish shimmer in it. It's very pretty and goes quite nicely with the other shades.

The downside of this palette is the purple cream shadow in True.  Kat's cream shadows always start out fantastic.  They apply smoothly and are easy to work with. However, they always dry out in a few months until they become essentially useless. I wish that she would completely cut out cream shadows from her palettes for this reason.

The packaging for this palette is very pretty, as it is white with a blue engraving on it (all of her other palettes are black). The case is made of sturdy plastic and comes with a mirror.
