Kat von D Concealer Review

As the Sephora.com page for the Kat von D Concealer states: this is a heavy-duty, highly pigmented, transfer-resistant and water resistant concealer. It is oil-free - which is a HUGE bonus.

Every other concealer I have ever tried has ended up floating of a layer of oil and sweat produced by my skin during the working day.  So, when I use the phone, I leave sticky face prints on it, when I change clothes, the makeup transfers to the clothes (which is usually impoosible to remove), and it looks streaky and chalky.

Not so with Kat's new product.  I didn't buy it to cover tats, even though I have 2, but to cover up the dark circles under my eyes that are a gift to me from my DNA and accentuated by each additional birthday. I also have a reddish cast to my nose and lower cheeks due to lupus (an autoimmune medical condition).

I gave up on trying to find concealers after the miracle of the mineral concealer was announced a few years ago.  It resulted in the same condition I described above, but worse, I assume, due to the fact that it is powdery when applied, and emulsified by your skin oils. So, of course it will look streatky and transfer easily onto phones and such. And yes, I also tried the famous Dermablend.  That works fine for legs - but not for the face.

The price for Kat's miracle concealer is a bit steep ($25) for my wallet, but it is so worth it as you really don't need to use that much to get great results.

This product is a real gift to those with scarring, lupus, rosacea, acne scarring, or dark circles and age spots. I HIGHLY recommend it.  It comes in several shades, so be sure to try the sample in the Sephora store before you buy. It is long-lasting and easy to apply - the consistancy is ideal for application around the delicate eye area - very smooth and velvety.
