Kashi TLC stands for "Tasty Little Cookies" and for the most part, they are. The cookie has a rich, earthy quality owing to the seven whole grains and sesame that is the basis of the batter (winter wheat, oats, rye, triticale, barley, long grain brown rice, buckwheat and sesame seeds). In addition, they've added dark chocolate chips, rolled oats, brown rice syrup, walnuts, and other ingredients to create an interesting cookie with a chewy texture.
Overall, I enjoyed the taste of the Kashi cookie. It wasn't exactly scrumptious, but it was a satisfying treat with a glass of milk. I thought the cookie had a slight aftertaste, which may be caused by the dark chocolate. I'd like to try a different version to see if the other flavors have that same aftertaste.
With 130 calories per cookie (3 grams fiber, 7 whole grains, 0 grams trans fat, no hydrogenated oils, and all natural) Kashi TLC Oatmeal Dark Chocolate Cookie is a guilty little pleasure you can eat without the guilt.
