When my first son was old enough to eat Cheerios, that is the cereal I gave him because when I was a kid, this was the "healthy" cereal compared to Fruit Loops & all of those others that were high in sugar & low in anything useful. Now that my second son is at that age, I have discovered Kashi Heart To Heart. Now both boys eat it, in fact, the one year old would prefer to eat ONLY Heart To Heart if I let him! I like it myself too, not just because it is healthier than a lot of cereals out there, but because it tastes good to! There is a little touch of sweet combined with the crunch of the o's & the heart shapes. The later of which always reminds me that I am serving my children this cereal because I love them & want them to be healthy. Corny? Oh yes. But that's what I think of. You do pay a little more for this cereal than say Cheerios, but I think the nutritional trade off is worth it. Plus, Kashi is pretty good about coupons, on their site & ocasionally in the newspaper inserts. Overall, I think this cereal is a great choice both for taste & nutrition.

If you want to try some high fiber cereals without the price tag of the "natural brands", take a look at Raisin Bran (even the store brands have high fiber) or Grape Nuts. Just an idea...
