By this time, you all know that I am persnickety about pasta and that I won't lie to you about my taste-related adventures so you can trust me when I say that "Kashi Chicken Pasta Pomodoro" is an excellent dish consisting of grilled chicken breast with red peppers, yellow summer squash and zucchini slathered in a tasty tomato, garlic and basil sauce and served over a bed of Kashi's famous Seven Whole Grain Penne Pasta. The meat appears to be a real chicken breast sliced and grilled, the veggies and sauce taste like home cooking, and the pasta is a delight -- tender but dense and firm.
STATS:
The package holds a single serving which contains 280 calories with 50 calories from fat. There are six grams total fat, one and a half grams saturated fat, zero trans fat, 25 mg. cholesterol, 470 mg. sodium, 510 mg. potassium, 38 grams total carbs, six grams dietary fiber, five grams sugars, and 19 grams protein. There are also 10% (D.V.) each Vitamin A, Calcium, and Iron, plus 30% Vitamin C.
TASTE TIP:
Kashi Chicken Pasta Pomodoro needs nothing to enhance its flavor but I couldn't resist shaking on just a LITTLE extra Parmesan cheese and capping off with a bunch of green grapes.
