Kaplan University - Online Degrees Review

I have been a KU student for over a year now, scheduled to graduate July 2009, and I cannot say enough about it!  I am a fulltime Mom of three teenagers, working fulltime as well, and find the flexibility of online classes to be just what I need.  I completed an Associate's Degree at a local community college and am now pursuing an Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management.  The Advanced Start means I was able to transfer in my Associate's Degree credits, allowing me to start at KU halfway through my Bachelor's Degree.

Online college is certainly not for everyone however, as there is no teacher reminding you weekly to get your assignments done.  You log in, see what you need to do and when the weekly online seminar is scheduled and it's up to you to log in for seminar and do your work in a timely manner.  Anyone who is not self-motivated would ost likely not fare well here.

As far as Financial Aid goes, I'm not sure why the other reviewer stated they could not get FA here; KU does participate in the Federal loan and grant programs.   I am receiving Pell Grants and loans as well as scholarships.  In order to receive FA, students must complete the FAFSA whioch determines whether or not students are eligible for grants.  Regardless of grant eligibility, all students are eligible for federal loans unless they are in default on prior student loans.
