Our son learned to climb into his baby high chair by himself when he was just over a year old. Needless to say this is about the time that we decided that the high chair may no longer be the safest option. I saw the Kaboost advertised in a parenting magazine and was excited to learn that it is widely available in baby stores and it is under $40. We purchased one and immediately began using it. It is easy to install, easy to clean and features two heights so it can be used for your toddler for a good length of time. It is portable, but I wouldn't say "easily" portable due to the weight and bulkiness. However, they are now offering a carrying bag which might help with those issues. We do take it on trips and it is great to not have to worry about a high chair. It is extremely safe - my son moves a lot of stuff around, but he has a very difficult time budging the dining chair on which we've installed the Kaboost.
