K'NEX Lincoln Logs —

I have two sons ages seven and eleven. They have loved building blocks of all shapes and sizes since they were babies. To this day, my seven-year-old still builds with his Lincoln Logs. My eleven year old tries to act as if he is too old for them but I catch him from time to time playing with them too. Anything that keeps them off the video game consoles makes me a happy mom!

About Lincoln Logs

Lincoln Logs have been a family classic since 1916. There are so many different variations of Lincoln Log sets out there that it's hard to choose which set to buy. Most sets come with stained wood logs, plastic roofs, other accessories, and play figures. Prices range anywhere from $4.99 for a mini set all the way up to $200 for large or commemorative sets.

My Experience

Our Lincoln Log experience started out with a mini set that came with just a few logs and a couple of accessories. It was perfect when the boys were younger but as they got older, they wanted larger sets to expand their building options. They now have several sets that they combine together to make villages. The cool thing about it is that the little pieces wood kind of fits together because of little slots on either end of the logs. They even come with plastic windows that can be place on the side and built around. Some of the sets come with roofs, chimneys and ladders. There are horses and cowboys that just expand their imagination more. I also love the fact that most sets come with their own container to store them back in. The only complaint they have is that the structures sometimes tumble down a bit too easily. I tell them that that's the best part because they get to rebuild! We have had some of these sets for years, no pieces have broken, and there are minimal signs of wear and tear.

My Final Viewpoint

Lincoln Logs are a classic toy that never goes out of style. There are many different sets to choose from so the fun never stops. They are durable and promote imagination. I recommend these and I am giving them a 4 star rating.

I remember Lincoln Logs. My brother and I used to play with them. I was just thinking the other day that I need to get my little guy this when he gets older. Great review! ~Krista Lynn

I can't wait for my son to get a little older so I can get him some. I loved these as a kid too!

I loved these too - both as a kid and when I got them for my boys.

My brother and I were just reminiscing about Lincoln Logs. I would love to have them again, for the kids, of course:)

Cool review! I never owned a set of Lincoln Logs - Lego was more "my thang" in those days - but I played with them in school during recess. (Kindergarten and in pre-school!)
