Juno (Net Zero) Review Summary

Thinking of adding making Juno as your internet service provider? Our reviewers gave Juno only mixed reviews. As far as positives go, our reviewers say “you simply get the same service (or better) for a lower price.” Also, if you’re inexperienced with computers “Juno is easy for beginners.” But be warned, there are some serious complaints from some of our members. Most notably, the fact hat Juno apparently won’t cancel service when they are asked to and will continue to send bills. One reviewer canceled Juno only to find that two months later Juno began billing them again out of the blue. On a less worrisome scale, some reviwers wish that they could get rid of the Juno homepage every time they sign on.

There are many internet service providers (ISPs) to choose from these days.  While the quality of most ISPs is similar, the cost can vary from free to $30/month (or even more).  I have tried several ISPs and have found Juno and Net Zero (same company now) to provide the best value.  You simply get... read full review »

Working Net Zero has been a nightmare! I used them for several months with no major problems, but once I decided to upgrade to another company with DSL they (Net Zero) "refused" to cancel my account. The stated they canceled and provided a confirmation number, but two (2) months later they started to...

My mother used NetZero for a few months but then upgraded to ATT DSL.

I just attempted to help her cancel her NetZero account.  What a nightmare.

First, I had to call an 800 number and sit on hold for several minutes.  Then, I had to communicate with a representative who isn't a native English speaker.  Finally, when I made it clear to her that I really want to cancel and that I don't want any other services or billing, she said we'll give you a free month of backup service just in case your DSL has any problems, OK?  I said, I want to cancel my NetZero account.  She said, this is a free...

You can't connect without their software. Their software is just a piece of adware that insists on changing IE's homepage and adding their own toolbar. Not that I use IE; I use Firefox :). You can't minimize their ads while it dials and it stays on top of anything else you might be doing. When you install it, it sets itself (without asking) to start on system startup. It will not run on Linux (unless you have linspire, maybe). After about a month or two, when running netzero, it will say the install is corrupted and ask you to reinstall (and I know at least two other people that have the same problem).... read full review »

I've been with netzero for a good 10+ years and till this day I can honestly say that I've had no problems with the service, let me also add that I still use dial-up till this day and have never had any problems whatsoever. I've told many of my friends that unless their going to do brain surgery on someone while surfing the net than I could see the reason for DSL, but for the years I've had with netzero dial-up, I've never had a problem going from page to page or downloading for that matter and I think that their the only service that allows payment from a checking or savings account other...

Constantly states that all access numbers are busy, when I do get a connection it is very short lived and terribly slow.  Customer service is horrible and uncooperative.  The billing department is horrendous, they're unorganized, and good communication skills are nonexistent.  Trying to cancel is a nightmare, and they will try to take all money they can get away with.

When I started with Juno several years ago, they were an excellent company, with relatively fast dial up, now in the past year everything has gone downhill and just getting worse with no sign of improvement anywhere in the future. ...

After suffering with (courtesy of Qwest, my landline provider) MSN, anything would've been an improvement, but Juno really does give me what I need and much of what I want at a decent price. I do wish I could ditch their homepage, but the two extra mouse clicks to close and reopen IE7 isn't exactly a major imposition. Not perfect, but very, very good and quite reliable.

I have used Juno for many, many years and find it very dependable.  While I also have wifi that I use whenever possible, Juno dialup is a product that I can trust to always be there when I need it.
