Jungle Talk Hide A Treat —

I have owned parrots and bred several species for over 20 years. When I fell in love with parrots, it was a one way street that only led to more parrots! My first big parrot was a Blue and Gold Macaw named Lucy. She is my baby, what can I say? I got her when she was only 3 months old and finished handfeeding her. She turned out to be a very loving pet and to this day is still my baby! She tolerates the others in the family but will only let me hold her. I guess this would qualify her as a "spoiled brat"!

One of her favorite past times is eating treats. Presenting food to parrots, especially new foods can be challenging. Parrots need a diet that is as much like the diet they would have in the wild. That means lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Serving food in a feeder dish is one way to do it, but having the Jungle Talk Hide-a-Treat gives your parrots some fun and entertainment along the way. They have to work for the treat!

The Jungle Talk Hide-a-Treat hangs from a chain about 8 inches long. The Hide-a-Treat is a two part feeder, where the top slides up the chain to reveal treats and/or food left in the lower half of the Jungle Talk Hide-a-Treat. The toy is entertaining, not only to your parrot, but to you too because it is so much fun watching them figure this thing out!

The Jungle Talk Hide-a-Treat comes in lots of different colors. Lucy's is orange and she loves it. This feeding accessory retails for about $7.99 and can be found in most pet stores. I like it because it challenges parrots to solve the puzzle of getting the treats out. It is also easy to clean (made of durable plastic). Jungle Talk Hide-a-Treat also comes in smaller sizes for smaller parrots. It's a great buy, useful and entertains both you and your parrot!
