Does its function but prefer a blender and is a pain to clean

4

My mom had this for a while and a few months ago i got really into a healthy kick. I had been making all of my "juices" in the blender that i had, but everyone told me that juicers were the way to go. i bought it from my mom and wound up only using it once. This thing has a ton of parts and as an engineer i was pretty disappointed with its design. Also, what amount of food i usually put into the blender to make my juice wound up only filling 1/6 of my cup in this juice. What a waste! After repeatedly adding more and more food to try to fill the cup i found that it did in fact clean out the pulp and made a real and very tasty juice. At that point I thought there was hope of me using it again, until i tried to clean it. there are so many parts that need to be cleaned, and some of the crevices are difficult to get to. I cut my knuckles open on a few of them and after that i put it away in the closet and went back to my blender. I bought this second hand from my mom because i saw all of the juicer prices online, they are outrageous. I'm glad I didn't go crazy and buy a brand new one just to be disappointed when a blender is 1/8 of the price and does a better job and is easier to clean.

I have never gotten so much Juice from a Juicer AMAZING

A friend of mine had this juicer and did not use it. She asked me if I wanted it and since I wanted to have some more healthy juice options , I gladly accepted. I first tried carrot juice as I have family members who love it. I was surprised at how well it worked. I bought five pounds of carrots and got a whopping two quarts of juice out of it. I was really surprised as other juicers I have tried do not make that much. The juice actually came out like a water faucet running. There is a container that the unused portions of the fruit or vegetables go in. The remains are shredded so nicely that you could use them to make veggie burgers or put them in soup. Clean up is easy as well although at first I had trouble trying to figure out how to get the blade section off to clean it. It is a little bulky but most juicers are but still stores well in a cabinet or on a shelf. I have tried all sorts of fruits and vegetables in this juicer and have not been disappointed yet. I give it a very good rating.

Served me well for many years, but there are better choices!

As a starter juicer, this one is good enough. It was the first juicer I had owned so I was satisfied with it, or so I thought. I later moved onto my Jack Lalane, which I find to be far superior to the Juiceman, but I still hesitate to give this juicer a bad review all the same. It stains easy, not the most convenient for cleaning with its parts, etc. However, as far as performance, I can't detect any difference in the juice it extracts from my Jack Lalane - the volume it yields is comparable (if not indistinguishable) and the taste is just as good (and just as healthy, I'll bet!). I guess its weakness lies in its build and design in terms of cleaning - that's where it really falls behind. Ease of Cleaning This is where this juicer falls short for me - and at the end of the day, it's a pretty major factor! The color alone lends itself to the disadvantage of being dyed orange upon juicing your first carrot. You might think with diligent cleaning and such you can avoid the orange/brown staining that becomes of all white/off-white juicers but you can't! It's unavoidable and before long you resign to your fate and just let it be. So yeah, it'll work but it will also become an eye sore with its orange brown stains. At least mine did. Durability It lasted without hesitation or trouble for the many years I owned this juicer - my first juicer! Versatility/Number of Features Like I said, I survived off of this juicer for years although my requirements were easy - make juice. Design It should be noted that the manufacturer touts a wide chute for the fruit, but it in reality is somewhat narrow requiring you to chop your fruits and vegetables into smaller pieces, although this is a fact I didn't really notice until I got my current, upgraded juicer.

Decent juicer for the occasional juicing

We got this juicer for our wedding, and we used it way more frequently when we had more time (before kids), but it does a fantastic job of squeezing all juice out. It's just timely to clean! Pulp Setting Effectiveness We are amazed at how well it juices every bit out of the fruits and vegetables we have used. The pulp is perfect for our rabbit or chickens. Stability While in Use We have never had any issues with the stability of our machine. There are several parts you have to make sure are lined up before you juice, but it has always stayed in place. Ease of Cleaning This is why we use it as infrequently as we do. There are so many parts to it, and they all need to be cleaned well--it's just a lot to clean. It's not difficult just time consuming. Durability We've juiced lots of fruits and vegetables at once, and the machine didn't seem to tire. Versatility/Number of Features We haven't tried too many different features or uses other than to have juices to drink, but it's great for that. Design Overall, all of the pieces can be difficult to keep track of, but it works well.

Great for Juicing fruit and vegetables if you only need one serv

I purchased this juicer several years ago and my daughter in law has used in to loose weight. It has worked fine for her but I have gotten it back when it is time to harvest apples. I wanted the juice to make apple jelly. The one drawback I had was that I had to continually removed the pulp in the basket that does the juicing. It would be nice if this machine was self cleaning so when new product came in the old pulp would get pushed out. Pulp Setting Effectiveness The pulp needs to not stick to the basket that makes the juice Stability While in Use There is no problem with it walking away or tipping over. Ease of Cleaning Just pull the pieces apart and I wash in my dishwasher but I don't use the dish drier. I let them drip dry. Durability We have used all sorts of vegetables and fruits and it has handled them all well except for the cleaning out of the basket. Versatility/Number of Features It has three speeds off, low and high Design I really works best if you put the basket behind to collect the pulp! I tried to have it shoot into the sink with a garbage disposal and it splatter everywhere. When My daughter in law gave it back to me she failed to give me the pail that goes behind to catch the pulp. Filling out this questionaire reminded me that I was missing that part.

It will do, but not the best

For some strange reason I received two of these juicers as wedding gifts (didn't register for it). I was happy because I wanted to get my new husband on to a healthier diet and thought a juicer would be the way to go. My enchantment lasted all of one week. This thing is hell to clean, clogs up with pulp really easily and stains (which makes it look nasty even though I KNOW it is clean). The pulp flies out the back and gets all over the counter despite the cup that is meant to catch it. The cup is too easy to knock over because it is not actually attached to the machine and the juice comes out frothy and weird looking. I was not impressed. I have used the first machine maybe 5-6 more times since that first week and now I think it is going to Goodwill. I gave the second machine away to someone else years ago. I think a juicer is a great kitchen tool to have especially if you are concerned about weight/health issues -- just not this juicer.

Excellent Juicer

This juicer helped me make fresh healthy juices. The juicer is easy to use with fruit and veggies. The cleanup is easy and quick. When you want your children to drink fresh juice, this is the best way. Carrot juice blends become so easy to make. I found it easy to take fresh juice in my lunch for that energy boost after lunch. When someone is diagnosed with a serious sickness, juicing is important! Using organic vegetables and fruit is important too. This juicer is easy to use. I have heard questions about what to do with the fiber that is left over after the juice is extracted out? There are 2 simple things I can think of: 1) If you are juicing carrots you can save the fiber left and use it in muffin recipe, and 2) You can add Vegenaise or Mayonaise and add celery, onion and stir it up like tuna. Sprinkle in some Sea Kelp to give it a seafood taste. Make appetizers or sandwiches with this mixture.

Great for creating your own healthy drinks!

At about 11lbs, this machine isn't very light. Also, if you use it, you should keep it on a sturdy surface as it shake a bit when you start juicing. I use it mostly to juice soybeans for homemade soymilk, but I use it to create other juices like apple, orange, and beet. I like that even though the fruit/vegetable may be hard, the machine manages to squeeze all the juice out of it. Although in my case, I wish that their filter was a bit more finer, because it misses quite a few soybeans sometimes. By the way, if you're looking for a quiet juicer, this isn't it. This makes *a lot* of noise, sometimes you can't hear yourself talk when you are juicing fruits and veggies. Pulp Setting Effectiveness When I make orange juice, it's very pulp free, which is great because I love pulp-free juices. It also retains a lot of the nutrients it seems, since you're extracting juice from the source. Stability While in Use The machine is pretty stable, but it does shake quite a bit when you're juicing something that's hard. You should always keep it on a sturdy surface anyway. Ease of Cleaning Although this juicer is pretty big, there are really only a few parts that need to be cleaned. There's the bucket part where all the refuse comes out, the clear gray part, the mortar that you use to push down the fruit/vegetable, and the tray inside. Outside than that, you can give the exterior a wipe down. Not too bad. Durability We've had this juicer for a couple of years now and it hasn't broken down despite dozens of uses. Versatility/Number of Features For a juicer, I really just expected to get juice when I put a veggie/fruit into it. Design It's simple, not too fancy and fine for me as all I want is juice.

I used it for a couple of weeks

I was very excited to buy a juicer. I thought it would help my family get the much needed nutrients that we require. I finally pursueded my husband that we 'needed' another appliance (he argued that it would end up alongside of the bread machine and dehydrator that are probably dusty at this point). Well, I admit that he was right. I didn't consider the time requirement for cleaning it. Between getting the fruit and veggies ready and cleaning the juicer, it just didn't work for me. I am a busy mom who works. I don't need anything extra to worry about. I have since bought a small powerful "blender" for smoothies. I use it everyday.

Good basic juicing unit

5

I personally prefer a whole juicer but this one does a good job for this style juicer. Produce requires minimal cutting to fit port and unit holds up well under regular use. Pulp Setting Effectiveness It removes the pulp just like it should Stability While in Use gripper feet holds it firmly in place during operation. Ease of Cleaning Dis-assembly and reassembly is very simple and facilitates easy cleaning. Durability Being plastic it needs to be handles appropriately to avoid damaging while handling but is is perfectly suited for the use which it is intended. Versatility/Number of Features Basic on/off makes it simple to use. Design Classic design makes it pleasing to the eye; it is also designed to be easy to clean and easy to use.
