Awesome Lemon Scent!

5

Joy Dishwashing Soap has been around for ages and I finally bought a bottle of the Lemon scent just to try it out. It did not perform as well as my normal brand but it was okay. First, it no longer comes in the cute and retro looking bottle. Instead it just looks like any other dish soap bottle. Which is fine, but it would have been cuter had it been in the retro bottle. The lemon scent is awesome! I love citrus scents in my kitchen since they just smell so clean and fresh and using this soap was, pardon the pun, a joy every time. I just loved smelling the fresh lemon scent every time I did dishes and it made me smile. The soap did an admirable job of cleaning everything from glasses to pots and pans. I did notice that it must not be concentrated like other dish soaps because I did need to use significantly more of it than I do of my usual soap. This wasn't a huge deal, but it did mean that I went through a bottle incredibly fast. Overall, I would buy this again because of the lovely scent and the cleaning power, but I'd recommend keeping a bottle in reserve because you go through it so quickly.

Joy dishwashing soap smells so good.

I just starting using Joy dish soap recently at my house and I think it is my new favorite. Its not as fancy as some of the others but it definitely gets the job done. The lemony scent stays in the kitchen and is very refreshing to me. I also have a spray bottle that I mix with only joy and water and I like to clean surfaces with it and also toys because it cleans them well and leaves them smelling fresh.

Joy Dishwashing Liquid, Lemon Scent has many other uses as well. yes it is a great dishwashing liquid and is a classic. I use this Joy to kill fire ants. You take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it a 1/4 way with HOT water and add some Joy. Pour this on a fire ant bed and it will kill them!

Joy smells great and cuts grease through adequately well

I will admit to being somewhat of a dish detergent snob. I am willing to sacrifice and cut costs in some areas, but dish detergent is not one of them. My two favorite dish detergent's are Dawn Ultra and the Dawn Hand Renewal. These to me are the gold standard when it comes to today's leading dish detergents. My husband recently purchased the Joy Dishwashing Liquid when it was on sale for 99 cents. My first impressions were positive. I very much enjoyed the fresh lemon scent. A pleasant, aromatic scent is important to me in a dishwashing liquid. The lemon smell was quite strong and refreshing. Joy scored well in this department. The liquid itself was on the thinner side, much thinner than Dawn, as a result I needed to use more detergent to adequately cut through the grease and clean my dishes. It should also be noted that I did have to apply a fair amount of elbow grease to get my dishes, pots and pans to really shine. At 99cents, Joy is a good value. That being said, I will not be replacing my beloved Dawn any time in the near future. I would rate Joy a 10 for scent and 6 for effectiveness for an overall rating of 7 out of 10.

Great Lemony Scent

I remember my mother using Joy Liquid Dishwashing soap for years and years as I was growing up. No wonder I choose this soap so often as my dishwashing liquid of choice. This one has the most wonderful lemony scent and gets your dishes exceptionally clean. Since I have to do all the dishes in my house . I like a soap that works well and smells great. It is a clean lemony scent. Not floral or sweet which I do not like. It lathers up wonderfully and does an exceptional job of getting rid of grease and grime. It eaves your dishes very clean and shiny. I have tried other soaps that are good as well but this one stands out above the rest because of the nice fresh lemony smell. Citrus always makes dishes or your kitchen feel clean and aromatic. You get the nice scent as well as the nice clean dishes and it is not harsh on your hands like some soaps are. Love it for both scent and effectiveness of cleaning.

Joy Dishwashing Liquid Cleans Well, but Watch that Scent

Dish liquids come in fancy scents and many claim special abilities. But there are still a few no- nonsense brands available and one of them is **Joy Dishwashing Liquid Lemon Scent.** **Dish Liquid Commentary:** Joy Dishwashing Liquid Lemon Scent is a lemony dish cleaner that produces a good amount of suds and is useful as a means to get dishes clean without any of the fancy scents or abilities so common with modern dish liquids. Joy used to be a more popular brand, but it has now faded into a comfortable position as a cash cow that, while no longer among the best sellers, still enjoys a loyal following. Joy Dishwashing Liquid Lemon Scent is a good overall dish liquid and I have had good success when I have used this brand. I like its ability to clean up a moderately soiled batch of dishes with little fuss and few surprises. The additional suds means it takes a little more effort to rinse, but dishes still come out squeaky clean. I like Joy Dishwashing Liquid Lemon Scent overall, but one small issue I have with this product is its tendency to leave behind too strong of a lemon scent on dishes. Those with sensitive palates will notice this the most, because the lemon scent sometimes transfers to food and drink. This is why it is very important to rinse thoroughly when you use this product. **Bottom- Line Viewpoint:** Joy Dishwashing Liquid Lemon Scent is a good dish washing liquid overall and it has been cleaning and protecting dishes for many, many years with millions of satisfied customers. The tendency to make food and drink taste like lemons is one of the product's drawbacks, but it is still a good dishwashing liquid that gets the job done.

Joy Dishwashing Liquid Has Its Pros and Cons

3

My mom always used Joy dishwashing liquid when I was growing up. I remember when the containers used to have a cute design and some of the ladies would crochet a little dress to put over the bottle. Great memories of some of those days! What I like about Joy dishwashing liquid: - I actually like the lemon scent - I usually dislike anything scented because it tends to flair up my asthma, but this stuff doesn't bother me. - It cleans the dishes pretty well. - It didn't break out or dry my hands. What I don't like about Joy dishwashing liquid: - In my opinion, it is not as tough on grease as ultra concentrated Dawn. - It tends to not last as long as Dawn - I found myself having to add more liquid before I was done washing the dishes. - I thought it was a bit high on price, especially since I tended to have to add more before the dishes were done. **My Viewpoint:** I actually have a dishwasher, but it doesn't work, so I find myself washing dishes by hand. I have a family of five, and that accounts for a LOT of dishwashing over the years. I want a product that is really strong, doesn't break out my skin, and is priced right. Although Joy has a pleasant scent to me and doesn't tend to dry out my hands, I found Dawn to be a better product at cleaning grease and lasting longer. Actually, I think the last time I went to my mom's house, she had a different dishwashing liquid too.

Joy Dishwashing Liquid is a no nonsense dish cleaner

My mom used Joy Dishwashing Liquid, lemon scent, while I was growing up and I'll always have a soft spot for it. It's not fancy, but it does what it is supposed to do; clean your dishes. We have a dishwasher so we don't do a lot of hand washing of our dishes, but I always like to keep a bottle of this on hand if I just need to wash a pot that I need to use and don't want to run the dishwasher for a paritial load. I've really never had any problems with this product. I love the lemon scent and it doesn't seem to dry my hands out (I have very dry hands in the winter). Also this product is super inexpensive and lasts forever (especially if you use it infrequently like we do). I've also found that it's great for washing my 4 year olds hands if he's decided to play in mud/paint/ink. It gets all of those things off with a minimum amount of fuss. I've really not a fancy product, but if you want to get your dishes clean it's great to use.

Need to use too much of this soap to get the job done.

I bought a large jug of this soap 5 years ago from a wholesale and we're almost finished using it. I have not enjoyed most of the time that I have used it. Why? This soap is way too harsh for my hands. It dries out my hands. It is very tough on grease. If I have a really greasy frying pan, I know that the lemony action of the Dawn detergent will cut that grease right out. However, for just an everyday quick scrub, I cringe thinking about it touching my hands. Does it clean well? Yes. Does it feel great on your hands? No. I like the lemon scent of the soap. As I recall, it was very inexpensive. However, I find that I have to use several large squeezes of the bottle to get one sink full of dishes finished. (I guess I'm lucky I got the wholesale size, afterall). Following all of those squeezes, soap bubbles float all about my kitchen. There is something unnatural about that and makes me wonder what chemicals are making those bubbles float for that long! I will not be buying Joy anytime in the near future. There are many other dish soaps that are worth trying.

My favorite dishwashing liquid

5

Joy Lemon Scent is my favorite dishwashing liquid. Just like it claims, it doesn't take very much to get the job done. And it works very well at cutting through grease. I'm rather scent sensative- many scents give me an instant headache, but I'm fine with Joy Lemon Scent. And Joy doesn't dry my hands out like many other dish soaps. I normally use gloves, but sometimes I'm just doing a few dishes and don't bother. So it's nice to have something that's gentle on the hands. I will say, I like the concentrated version of Joy much more than the regular strength. It seems like you need more than twice as much regular strength to cut the grease than ultra (although I haven't really seen the regular strenght in stores for years- so maybe they don't even sell it anymore, but I thought I'd mention it). You used to be able to find Joy everywhere, but recently I've found it harder to find. It a real shame, because I like it so much more than the other brands I've tried.
