Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D proved to be a good choice for me and my kids. It had all the elements of a family movie combined with enough excitement to keep the boy's attention.

I've never been a huge Brendan Frasier fan. I think a lot of his roles are corny. Somehow he pulled off the role of a science professor in Journey to the Center of the Earth though. It wasn't a stellar performance, but I was impressed.

The idea of seeing a 3D movie and getting the glasses was a thrill for my kids. I had never seen a 3D movie either so it was a new experience for all of us. I'm not gonna lie, there were moments where I was jumping out of my seat. Fish with sharp teeth were jumping right out at us and there is a scene where the characters are riding in a mine shaft and it feels like you are on a roller coaster simulation ride.

As a whole, we enjoyed the movie. I recommend Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D for families with kids who are outgrowing the cartoon movies, but aren't ready for heavier plots yet.

Wow, thanks for being more specific as to the age group, I was wondering about that.

Would you recommend it for adults without children?
