Johnson & Johnson Band-Aid Clear Water Block Plus Bandages —

My youngest son recently had minor surgery to have a mole removed from his arm. He received several stitches and we were told that he could shower but only with a waterproof bandage. The Dermatologist recommended Johnson & Johnson Band-Aid Clear Water Block Plus Bandages. We stopped at the drugstore store and picked up a box of 30 for around $3.99.

About Band-Aid Water Block Bandages

These transparent band-aids provide 100% waterproof protection, are flexible, hypoallergenic and have a non-stick pad. They are available in a box of all one size bandages that measure 1in. x 2 1/2 in. or in a box that contains 20 - 1 x 2-1/2 inch and 10 - 3/4 x 2 inch bandages.

My Experience

The next night my son was about to take a shower so I grabbed the box of waterproof band-aid's and began to peel the paper off of each side of the bandage like I do with the regular ones. The paper came off easily but within about a second, the bandage was all stuck together. One down, twenty-nine to go. I unpeeled a second one and the exact same thing happened. The bandage itself is so fine that it is very difficult to handle. After a few more destroyed bandages, I finally got one to seal firmly on my son's arm. He took his shower and it did keep his stitches completely dry. I was impressed by that but wish it were easier to apply it so I didn't have to waste so many. I also liked that when I removed the bandage, there wasn't any remaining black sticky stuff left on his arm as others leave.

My Final Viewpoint

Johnson & Johnson Band-Aid Clear Water Block Plus Bandages are definitely waterproof but somewhat difficult to handle once the paper backing is removed. I recommend these if it is necessary to keep a cut dry but be sure to be prepared to waste a few until you get the hang of applying them. I am going with an average rating of 3 for these bandages.

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Hope you are feeling top notch! I'll give your advice a try but these waterproof Banda-Aids are a pain to handle!

Sorry so late with the vote but I did dialysis several wks. ago and got behind on reading reviews.

I have latex allergies and an extreme sensitivity to band-aids. One of my many doctors used a latex-free style on me and it did wonders. The trick to not wasting them. Pull one protective strip off and stick the bandage on the cut/wound then pull the other strip off. I'm a weanie baby so usually I have someone else doing that stuff for me. ~Gigi

These sound great if you really need them, but I can relate to the too sticky situation. Nice review!

I've used these Band-Aids. They are pain to put on. I wasted half a box one time. UGH! They do keep a cut dry. ;-)
