Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Lotion Review Summary

Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Lotion made by a brand millions have trusted to provide gentle skin care to babies and it has a wonderful fragrance at a reasonable price. Most parent reviewers agree that not only does this bedtime lotion provide great moisturizing for their babies' sensitive skin but also a calming effect. Reviewer Newbee says, “Whatever they put in this stuff, it really does work. My little one eats and then gets his bath and before I know it he is dozing off, so peaceful and calm.” Misslisa says, “The only problem being that it may very well work too well (if there is a such thing)...being that it puts mommy in the mood to sleep as well! “ The majority of users enjoy the fresh lavender and chamomile scent, however some parents don’t find it fragrant or soothing. Though Shaggin appreciates how smooth and soft her baby’s skin is, she thinks “it really didn’t seem to make the slightest difference to their mood or sleeping patterns.” The majority of caregivers were very happy with the soothing and calming results of Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Lotion, giving baby and mom or dad a much needed rest. There is something to be said for aromatherapy. It is true that the aroma of peppermint or cinnamon can lift your spirits or provide energy and that chamomile and lavendar can help you relax.  Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Lotion does just that if not for baby, at least for this busy mom of 4.

When my son was born, the first baby lotion I used was the "complimentary" bottle of Johnson's Baby Lotion (the pink stuff) and it worked really well. Once it came time to purchase a bottle of lotion Johnson's was first on my list. I had read about the calming aroma contained in the Johnson‘s Bedtime Lotion so I figured I would try it out. Hey, anything to get baby to sleep more than a few hours at the time was fair game.

My son naturally pretty soft normal skin so I wanted something that would help keep in the skin's natural moisture and assist in baby massage. The Johnson's Bedtime Lotion is...

Babies generally have soft skin but even the skin of a baby can find itself in need of some moisturizing, particular during the winter season when the air is dry. One product I have used for this purpose and like very well is Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Lotion, a product used to keep your baby's skin soft.

Lotion Commentary:

Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Lotion is a product I have been using for many months. I got a bottle of this for the first time along with a similar product- Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Bath. These two products are similar in smell and they generally produce the same results: Making...

You know I think its weird how kids these days get all the cool stuff like this product,I mean when i was growing up we didnt even have hot water and the most fun we had in the bathroom around bath time was standing on the side of our bathtub and seeing who could hit the toilet with our pee,im glad times have changed since then cause I'd hate cleaning up after my kid doing that. You look at the hair detangler kids have today my grandmother would cut all my hair off just so she wouldnt have to deal with my hair, see kids of todays generation have it alot better than we did as kids growing up and im... review »

This lotion by J&J is a dream. I was given this lotion and bath wash for a shower gift and have been buying it ever since. It smells wonderful and really keeps my little one's skin super soft. I love the smell. It really seems to relax my baby and puts her to sleep. The lavendar scent in it is so soothing. The price seems to be very affordable for this product as well. If you have a hard time getting your little one to sleep at night, give a warm bath with the J&J Bedtime bath and follow with the Bedtime Lotion. It will work!! My daughter had dry skin and when I started using the wash and lotion...

i love johnson an johnson shampoos and washes and my parents used them on me as a baby, but this bedtime lotion stuff, i bought some, and late at night gave my brand new boy a bath, then applied some to his chest and before i had moved to his arms he was screaming bloody murder. he was calm prior to this. i thought it was an allergic reaction, but after testing it on my skin (poor guy had been crying for 30 minutes at this point, i was desperate) i found soon after application it makes your skin unnaturally cold. calming? definitely not. 1 bath later boy was fine, and i went to sleep late on...

I LOVE THIS LOTION! I will also wear it and I recieve many compliments when I wear it. It moisturizes your skin better than most others. My son is now mostly using Aveno, but we still use the calming lotion at bedtime, he seems to relax with it on. The body wash also works great! Our bedtime routine is to give him a bath with Johnson's bedtime wash then we use the bedtime lotion immediately following. When we started this routine he started sleeping through the night (that same night). I don't know if it is connected, but I am not about to change anything!

I really like the soft lavender scent of this product.  It works great with the bath soap.  It really does moisturize my little one's skin nicely.  Altough I am not too sure that it really calms my baby down and helps her sleep through the night.  I have been using this for a while now while trying to establish a nighttime sleep routine and I don't think it has really had anything to do with her sleeping through the night since she oftentimes doesn't.  But it does leave her smelling really nice and it does calm your nose.

Johnson and Johnson Bedtime Lotion is not effective to calm and relax your baby to sleep. It is also very harmful to your baby's skin. You can imagine my surprise when I came across a long list of Johnson & Johnson's baby lotions that showed a safety rating of 8. Keep in mind that 0-2 represents a low hazard, 3-6 indicates a moderate hazard, and 7-10 signals a warning sign that should be slapped on the product's consumer packaging.

I love J&J bedtime lotion!  I have used it for over 6 years now!  The price is reasonable (esp. when you get a coupon and hit the sale) and the smell is wonderful!

I used this every evening after I get my 1 year old out ot the bath and give her a baby massage :)  she loves it and I love the time I get to spend with her.

It leaves her skin soft and smelling good, as an added bonus so is yours :)

We have tried many other lotions with babies for our first 3 children when our third child was a little older we started using this lotion but mostly with the fourth child we really used this product,  I love the way it smells and the smell really helps the child get a little sleepy, the scent of the lotion also stays on the childs skin through to the next day's bath, so you always have a wonderful smelling baby!

What happened to the old bedtime lotion and bath lotion. I miss the old one and I wish that Johnson & Johnson would bring the old one back for good. The new smell is absolutly awful, I gag from the new sent and is too over powering. Should definitly be taken off the shelf for wrongful advertisement, NEW & IMPROVED, wrong. It may be new but definitly not improved.

My daughter is 5 & my son is 2. I have used this product from the begining. I still use it on my daughter. It makes the kids smell great & thier skin is very soft & smooth. I tell all my fiends & family about this lotion. I always buy it for baby shower gifts. I even use it on my hands after I'm done lotioning up the kids. The smell is very nice.

The nighttime J & J soap and lotion are wonderful.  They leave my son's skin feeling so, so soft.  And he smells so soothing.  He gets lots of compliments  for his wonderful smell.  We changed to a different kind for a while because we ran out and had another kind as a gift.  Now, we've gone back.  We're much happier.
