Johnnie Red Label is the working man whiskey. It has a great taste and is very smooth but doesn't hurt your pocket book. A great social drink. Drink on the rocks or my favorite way, mix it with coke. This is a drink that is great anytime of the day. The aftertaste is something to look forward to. A little...

Scotch whiskey is a product originating in its native land of Scotland and it has been distilled for centuries by many different companies and family operations. Among them, the best known of all is that which was founded by a man named John Walker in 1820. His company is still thriving today, nearly two hundred years later. And its best- selling product is Johnny Walker Red Label Scotch, a blended Scotch whiskey.

Golden tan in color, this Scotch offers a rich aroma that combines smokiness, malted grain, wood, alcohol, and a little bit of vanilla. The liquid itself is a little on the thick side...

I have had the Red, Black, Green, Pure Malt, Gold, and Blue Label (not the King Gearge V bottle)Alll of them are good but if you are going to buy Johnnie Walker then atleast buy the Black. The Blue Label is the smotthest that money can buy but the Red is just cheap.
But Johnnie Walker is the best type of scotch and I think that the red is not quite as bitter as most but would still have to recommend either the Black, or a bottle of Crown if it come to money issues.

I usually buy JW Black, but tried Red to see what the difference was. Red seems much less robust and flavorful. This is probably what you would use for mixed drinks and save the Black for neat and with water. I like scotch, but the prices on the Gold and Blue are more than I would pay for the difference. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Johnnie Walker red label has a pretty smooth flavor, but its greatest attribute is the price. It is not quite as smooth as black-label or some of the higher end blended scotches likes Chivas Regal. I would definitely advise treating yourself to this scotch if you are looking for an inexpensive, full-flavored scotch.

Johnny Walker Red Label was smooth and full body alcohol and is good for a cold day... On a cold day, would go well with a warm fire and and a glass to savor..  Not something that you would drink down quickly, but should be savored.

The price is reasonable for such a good scotch.

Of all the scotches that I have drank, for under $40, this is the one to go with.  I even prefer it over the black or green.  Going through bartending school I tried a lot of different types of scotches, but prefer this one for my home bar.

Yuck says it all. This is a cheap drink and taste like it. I would never buy this to drink with friends let alone buy ever again. If you don't care about taste or hangovers then this is for you.  I found I was sick of the taste after a drink and I had a horrible hang over the next day even though I hardly drank any of Scotch.  Do yourself a favor and buy a real scotch and enoy it.   Happy Drinking!

Goes down well but always gives me a headache after drinking.  Chemical byproducts of fermentation can have this effect.  The better, longer aged, more expensive varieties (i.e. JW Black, Blue) obviously do not have these byproducts as I have no negative effects from imbibing these.

JW Red Label is a very smooth whisky given its reasonable price.
