In September 2004, just as 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and Lucasfilm Ltd. were releasing the long-awaited box set of the Star Wars Trilogy DVDs, Sony Classical re-issued the 1997 "Special Edition" soundtracks of Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in 2-CD albums that contained the same tracks as in the RCA Victor/BMG Music editions (even using identical track sequences and titles) but with new cover art based on the DVD cover illustrations, a few interesting "extra features" for PCs such as screensavers, and were digitally remastered...
