Upon trying out this product, I was shocked to find out how much alcohol it contains! The spray reeks of alcohol! I also don't like the fact that it doesn't finely mist the hair, as the spray nozzle deposits the hairspray somewhat heavily. The alcohol evaporates fast, leaving hair a bit crunchy. I also felt that I had to use a lot more of this product to gain the same results as I had with other hairsprays (some of which were 4 times cheaper)! I originally bought into the claim of purchasing this product because Frizz Ease has become such a known and trusted brand. I do not believe that this hairspray is worth as much as it is being sold for. As for the hold of this hairspray, I would describe it as medium to strong, but it makes my fine frizzy hair feel crunchy instead of soft and manageable. I think that for shorter hairstyles this might be a great product, but for my long hair it didn't work.

I bought the John Frieda Frizz-ease Moisture firm-hold hairspray out of desperation. My hair is colored, very thick and frizzy. I bought this hoping to gain some control of my unruly hair. I was pleasantly surprised that this product, which is relatively inexpensive did what it promised. After applying this, it helps to contain my frizzy hair and makes it so much more manageable, without the sticky residue normally left from other hairsprays. The scent is nice, and even when I reapply later in the day my hair is still soft and not sticky. My style holds well, without drying which is unusual for me. After washing my hair I first apply John Frieda Frizz-ease styling gel, blow dry, and then this hairspray. I have gotten many compliments on my hair since using these products and will continue to use them. I would recommend using this hairspray to anyone, with any hair type.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold is one of the best hairsprays out there for curly or kinky hair. The key to using this product is not to apply too much. The odor will become overwhelming (like with any hairspray) and your hair will turn into a crunchy straw mess. I've done this before and can say it is not a pleasant experience. A very bad hair day. I like using this hairspray best when I wear my hair curly versus straight. It nicely defines and holds each individual curl so your hair looks neat and not disheveled. I can achieve a bouncy, shiny look that lasts throughout the day and into the evening. I like that John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold dries very quickly, almost instantly so that you can use a curling or straightening iron on your hair if needed. When I wear my hair straight, I don't get that horrible fried, processed hair smell with this product. Though it holds your hairstyle firm, you can also comb through your straight hair.

I was going on a trip to Florida and needed a hairspray that was going to last and keep my bangs straight. Usually when I go out in humid weather or rainy weather my bangs tend to curl up at the ends and i hate it! I bought a can of John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold and it has been my hairspray of choice for the past three years. It holds the style, works great in humid weather and sprays on evenly. Once in awhile the nozzle will get clogged and I'll just run it under hot water and it'll be fine. If you spray a whole lot, then it can leave your hair very stiff but won't leave it with the wet look. If you spray it on wet hair for a scrunchy type look, it'll definitely keep the wet look. So overall this hairspray is awesome! As far as holding curls done with a curling iron, well, this is definitely the only one that has held curls the longest. My hair is really thick and I have a lot so I'm guessing no hair spray will work great.
