I used to watch Joel's dad, John Osteen, many years ago. I found him late one night flipping through the channels. I LOVED John. He was one of the most powerful ministers I had ever seen. Unfortunately my work schedule changed & I wasn't able to watch him any longer. A few years ago I started the search for him again, and I was saddened to find that he had died. I saw Joel Osteen's show & figured he was the son. I watched him for about 10 minutes & was disappointed that he wasn't like his dad, so I didn't watch again until this past year. Now, I am a devout believer in God, but not in church. I believe in, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". I don't believe that religon should be stuffed down your throat, especially since there are so many types of faith. So about a year ago I decided to give Joel's show 1 more look. I watched him for 30 minutes. I was amazed at how far he'd come since the first time I saw him. When you watch him you almost get the feeling he's talking to you directly. His message is, "You are a child of God". It's not about being Catholic, Christian, Buddist, Jewish, etc... He's not about being holier than Thou. He's about doing your best, being your best, helping your family & ALL humans. He inspires me to be the best that I can be & to be happy about it. Do yourself a favor and watch his show on Sunday nights & YOU be the judge. The worst that can happen is that you waste 30 minutes of your night. The best thing that can happen is that you feel great inside, for a change, and maybe better your life overall. Faith in mankind is iffy at best. Faith in God is awesome!!!
