Storyline: Jen, a Gelfling raised by the good Mystics, is the chosen one who can bring the world back under the control of good and away from the evil Skeksis. Jen must find a crystal shard to repair the Dark Crystal or evil will rule forever.

What I thought: I am normally a Jim Henson fan, but this one is a little strange. You have to be in the right mood to watch Dark Crystal. It's like watching a cartoon in real life. The Skeksis are disturbing and really annoying to listen to. The Skeksis are very ugly and look somewhat like skeletons. They have disgusting eating habits that you're just better off fast forwarding through the scene, you won't miss anything. It makes the movies difficult to take in and I admit I turned it off the first time I watched this. It does get better as it goes but you still have to deal with watching the Skeksis. This is not a movie for kids.

The wild fuzzy animal creatures are funny looking but kind of cute. The Podlings (good) are pretty cute and remind me of Cabbage Patch Kids. The cutest part is the fuzzy (friendly) little monster, Fizzgig, that sounds and acts like a dog. He reminds me of Animal from the Muppets.

Snack Attack: Don't eat anything, you might regret it later.

My state of mind seems to be in limbo this week, can't get motivated for anything. ;)

I know what you mean. I had to turn it off the first time I saw it. Like I said in the review you really have to be in the right state of mind to watch the whole movie.
