I love color.  The more iridescent, the better.  And holographic- it sends me into joy like few other things in life.

There is a new brand of cosmetics that is making an appearance at RITE AID stores which is worthy of a good hard look if you are a MAC fan, or a fan of anything pigmented, colorful, and creative in makeup.

JESSE'S GIRL is a very creative and intense line of cosmetics that has my attention loud and clear.  There is one thing they have in their permanent display that is literally THRILLING.

LIQUID CRYSTAL LIPGLOSS comes in four colors.  It is sheer lipgloss with holographic colors in it.  When you apply to the lips, various colors come out and become obvious.

COLORS AVAILABLE

TANGERINE- when you put it on it looks peach with twists of hot pink, lime green and gold

VIOLET- glowing violet blue with shifts to royal blue here and there- think LED lights in violet and you have a close idea

ICE- royal blue, violet, lime, warm pink

WICKED- gold, blue, lime, peach- mostly lime green flashes

WHAT IS THIS GLOSS LIKE?

Many times I have to review different colors of certain lines of makeup because each color behaves differently.  Different lipsticks either dry, moisturize or have different qualities because different pigments do different things on skin.

In this case, however, each of these glosses performs the same so I am reviewing them together.

This gloss has no obvious smell to me- it might be very faint, but not much.  The gloss has just enough milkiness to it where it makes decent coverage on the lips just enough to set off the holographic shifts of the pigments.

The gloss comes in a square tube with a wand applicator.  There is a sponge on the end- sometimes the contaier scrapes off too much product and I have to apply it with the wand stem, but that is a small price to pay to wear this unique and thrilling gloss.

Once on the lips, if you look in the mirror, it looks really cool- color shifting is gorgeous- but after a while, it seems to look like it is just one color.

Do not be fooled.  It is dynamite in appearance to anyone looking at you.  I have interviewed people about this for a few weeks now- even if I think it is fading, it is very brilliant to everyone else looking.

This gloss is moisturizing- non-sticky, an lasts about 45 minutes before I have to reapply.

It will not work over lipstick, however, no color at all shows up- it HAS to be on bare lips.

I have had no problems with my lips using this gloss either- many times my lips will peel a lot from certain lip products.

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

If you have ever had a black light and saw colors light up- or if you have LED lights you have an idea of the flashes that come from this very glowy gloss.

It is clear enough not to be overwhelming, but flashy enough to be satisfying and fun to wear.  I have had several people run out and buy this after seeing it on me.

By the way, if you ever saw Estee Lauder's version of holographic lipglosses a few years ago (Crystal Gloss in the Pure Color line), the Jesse's Girl version are much more pigmented and long lasting.  I have compared Estee LAuders' version side by side with Jesse's Girl and Jesse's Girl wins every time, hands down.

Considering that Estee LAuder wanted close to $25 for their version and Jesse's Girl only wants $5 for theirs, I am very impressed.

WHERE TO FIND THESE

You can see this gloss here:

If you want to buy it, you can get it at

it is $4.99 a tube.

Rite Aid stores are the only stores that carry this gloss.  I did not have it at my local Rite Aid, so they were able to have it sent there from another store.
