Turquoise eyeshadow is a very difficult thing to find.  I am talking about very vivid, highly pigmented, and iridescent turquoise eyecolor.  MAC does not even have a professional pigment that is like this- and they have a LOT of colors.

Recently, I was able to visit a full permanent display of JESSE'S GIRL COSMETICS at a Rite Aid store.  I was shocked and amazed at the quality of products that I found there for very reasonable prices.

Because each color of pigment acts differently, I am reviewing this color on its own.  My favorite color I found in the display was Duochrome Blue Green 565.

WHAT IS THIS COLOR LIKE?

Jesse's Girl 565 Eye Dust is mica based color.  The primary tone is brilliant highly pigmented turquoise with a lime green duochrome shimmer.  The grind is quite fine.  There is no talc in it.

When you use this color, you can put it on dry  (I recommend a good eyeshadow base), or you can add a drop of water to this to use it as a liner or higher impact color.

The color is intense and very duochromatic and shimmers with the same intensity you get from peacock feathers.

HOW DOES THIS COMPARE WITH SIMIAR PRODUCTS?

The amazing part about this pigment is that it is only $4 for 3.5 grams of product.  I have compared it with two very similar pigments and amazingly enough, they are identical.

Sweetscents has a color called Royal Peacock which is very close to this color.  The price is similar, but you have to send away for it- adding shipping.

Makeup Forever has a color called 906 Star Powder.   Jesse's Girl 565 is IDENTICAL to this color.

Interestingly enough, I have done surveys of people- I put on three samples of these and asked which one costs $20 range, which was $5, and which was $4.

Every time, people chose the Jesse's Girl for the highest price pigment!!!

WHERE DO YOU GET THIS ?

RITE AID is the only store carrying the Jesse's Girl Eye Dusts, and many Rite Aids do not have their displays in yet.  I have had to had Rite Aid headquarters send in products from other stores- which they are willing to do if you call their main number and request it.

You can also see these and purchase these here:

I plan on reviewing more of these as I get a chance to try them out- along with comparisons so you can know what this can substitute for or dupe as many call it.

FINAL COMMENTS

I love this pigment.  It is brilliant, performance is delightful, and with a good base, it performs beautifully- stays in place all day.

I use TOO FACE SHADOW INSURANCE (check out my review on that product) as a base and this stays in place all day.

You can also use a mixing medium of 1 part glycerine and 4 parts water to mix into any pigment to make it wet so that it will apply more intensely.

You can also use this in nail polish or for unique special effects on face or mixed into shoe polish.  Yes, you read that correctly- shoe polish.  ;D

Thanks for the info! I have had a heck of a time finding good, drugstore eyeshadow. This one sounds like a winner.
