Jergen's Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer has certainly improved since it first hit the market.  I remember searching all over for a bottle when it was first introduced on the market.  It was impossible to find!  When I finally did score a bottle, I was disappointed with the product.  It had a bad fragrance, so bad most would say that it just plain out stunk!

I can happily say that the product has been improved.  The fragrance is much better now and pretty mild in coparison to the original lotion.  I just wonder why they don't shoot for fragrance free?

All About Jergens Natural Glow

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer
is a subtle sunless tanning lotion that also provides moisture for your skin.  Sunless tanning products work by interacting with the surface cells on your skin's top layer.  A product called DHA is responsible for the darkening pigmentation of your skin when applied.  A subtle sunless tanning lotion will not give you a bronze and glowing tanned look.  It will enhance your skin tone and slightly darken your skin tone.

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer
comes in three different shades, fair, medium and medium-tan.  You should choose the shade that best matches your natural skin tone for best results or go one shade darker if you want a darker sunless "glow".

Preparing Your Skin

Before applying any sunless tanning lotion, you should first use an exfoliator.  This will remove all dead skin cells on the surface and allow the sunless tanning product to sink right in and do it's job to the best of it's ability.  Exfoliating also helps to extend a sunless tan.

Application

Your should read the directions before applying any sunless tanning product.  Tips from the manufacturer will help you avoid streaks, stains and help you to obtain the best sunless tan possible.  For instance, some products apply best if applied in a circular motion--while others are best applied in an up and downward motion.  You should also wait for at least 15 minutes after applying the product before dressing.  The product can stain clothing and be very difficult to get out.  If you apply the lotion with your hands, wash them as soon as you finish applying the lotion because it will stain your hands.  Also, apply a thinner layer to knees, elbows, ankles because these areas are prone to absorb more of the product and you will end up with darker skin and look "funny".  To avoid stained hands, use an applicaiton mitt or glove.

My Results & ViewPoint

I have used Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer several times.  I wasn't impressed with it when it first hit the market and other brands that followed seemed to work better and had a better scent.  In the last year, Jergens has made improvements to this product and I find that it now works better and smells 100% better than the original product.  Two years ago, I would have chosen another product if given the choice, but now I find them about equal in performance.

I have found that you need to use this product daily to see results.  After all, it is called "Jergens Natural Glow DAILY Moisturizer".  Each day you will notice that your skin tone evens out and gradually darkens.  You will want to use this daily until you reach the desired effect and at least every other day there after to maintain your sunless "glow".  You won't turn a golden bronze overnight and this is not what the product is designed for.  If that is what you are wanting, you need to buy a bronzer.

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer costs about $6.99 for a 7.5 fl. oz. tube.  It does even out skin tone and enhances your skin tone. It is also a good daily moisturizer.  If you don't want to look like a sheet, give it a try!  I give Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer 4 VP's!

I agree with Bayou and the others. This stuff is good. The odor is much much less than the self tanners. I suppose it comes from the tanning chemical in it and cannot be eliminated completely. I have used it and love it. A suggestion, once the tanning lotion is dry, go back over your skin with another regular body lotion with a nice scent you like. I think it will help offset any residual odor. Another suggestion - if you shower in the morning and don't have to go out (or at anytime several hours after you put it on, step under the shower for a quick rinse, no soap or body wash, then just use a body splash or freshener before you dress. Any of these things should help you yourself feel better about the odor. If you can't smell it, I can't smell it! I think Jergens has done a good job with their disclaimer that this is NOT a self tanner. It does work great for those of us who want to look healthy while the sun lubbers bake. I think Bayou made some very good points and upheld the real use of the product. One last point: with this product you can use it year round and not appear as if you are 'faking' it = you don't look so tanned - you just lok healthy!
