Jenny Craig Weight Loss Program Review Summary

The Jenny Craig Weight Loss Program is considered one of the best prepared food weight loss plans. Members say "it works if you can afford it". Most reviewers agree that the Jenny Craig diet is a solid weight loss program that can bring success to dieters. The Jenny Craig plan centers around prepared meals and snacked as well as local support meetings with a Jenny Craig counselor. This two pronged approach to weight loss really seems to work for our members. However, they say it is an expensive diet. Dieters report that the meals are generally pretty tasty, but Jenny Craig food is costly and the overall Jenny Craig Weight Loss Program prices are high. They also report that it is not realistic to think that you can eat "the Jenny Craig way" for life. I have done Jenny Craig on two separate occassions and lost at least 40 pounds each time. The problem is that once I was no longer eating just JC foods for every meal, the weight started to creep back on. In each case, I regained all the weight I lost and then some. I didn't want to deal with my weight for years. I love food and I wasn't ready to give it up. My doctor had even said he would recommend me for weight loss surgery - which is tantamount to self-mutilation.

When I was finally ready I decided to try Jenny Craig as my sister had lost 20 pounds on it. I had a lot more to lose and I didn't have much hope but I thought I'd try it. I LOVE IT!!! I've lost 30 pounds so far and I think I can stick with this for the long term.

I joined the Jenny Craig program about 10 years ago and it worked really well for me, I lost about 35 lbs very quickly and was really excited about it. It's not easy to lose weight on your own, having a "coach" a long the way really helps you stay focused on your goals and accomplishments. Not only does it give you the accountability every week, but it also teaches you portion control and promotes healthier eating habits.     I started this diet with only about 18-20 lbs to lose to be a MY ideal weight which was in the low end of the average weight scale. I do not eat meat, fish, chicken or eggs so my menu item chooses are limited however I was still able to order  a ton a food that worked for me.....the food was incredible, there was not a single meal I did not enjoy. The desserts are sinful!! The only draw back was that the plan was expensive...it averaged about $550 a month. Thank god I did not have that much to lose.

I was so disappointed with Jenny Craig.  I have tried everything- this was my last resort.  First of all, it took a lot for me to walk into a building that said "weight loss" really big above it and admit to someone that i have a weight problem.  I was really excited to meet a consultant and actually have someone support me and believe in me.  Well, I have a slight allergy to hazelnuts (never been proven), my tongue just sort of goes numb, but I still eat them.  I wrote that on the form under allergies.  So, I sit down in her office and she says tell me about your hazelnut allergy, so I tell...

I was skeptical at first but once I tried the plan I was hooked.  The food is really good and the weight just falls off.  I have never been on an easier weight loss plan. 

I was also concerned about the cost.  Make no mistake this is not an inexpensive investment, however I do believe that it is well worth it.  I bought the premium membership so I have earned 30% off of my Jenny food.  The other part of the expense is the fresh veggies and fruits and other groceries.  I have found that buying healthy food is not cheap.

I joined Jenny Craig last year and am going into my second year full steam ahead!

The plan is terrific... you buy three meals and one snack from them and add your own salads, yogurt, etc and the weight comes off!!

The rewards program is key... it's a little pricey upfront, however, you get immediate discounts on all of your food and the longer your on the program, the discounts escalate!

I also love that  can take Jenny with me wherever I travel, either in the way of the foods they have especially for travel, or any center I can visit across the county! They even have an exchange program so I...

Many, many, many years ago, I purchased a lifetime membership that I don't use now.  During the time I could afford the packaged foods and do the additional marketing for foods on my daily menus, I lost 55 pounds.  Wow! was I excited until I had a financial upset and had to prioritized my spending.  As I no longer could afford to purchase the packaged foods, there went my weight. I have been on Jenny Craig twice in my life. Both times I slowly but surely lost the weight. Unfortunately both times I also slowly but surely gained the weight back. While Jenny Craig does teach you alot about portion control it does not help you gradually head back into normal eating. The prepacked meals are a no brainer and I truly believe you have to change the way you think about food and preparing it yourself would be a good way to do that. On March 08, my Doctor told me that I was almost a diabetic with a high blod surgar A1c level. He basically threatend me to get my blood surgars down or he would put me on meds and or shots. I have had luck losing over 60 pounds with Jenny Creig, but once I stopped the inches piled on quick. I think it is a good program, but know that you will still work as hard when you stop to keep the pounds and inches off. I have been off of the program for about 4 months and recently gained about six pounds due to holiday eating and drinking, so I am going to go back on the program. Since this is the thrid time on the program I know that in the first week I will be able to drop about five pounds and then maybe a few the next week. I did JC before my wedding to lose some extra lbs. I thought it would be easier for me than it was, but I guess I was lacking in motivation. First off, you go to the center to meet with your consultant and plan you menu. The center was nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly. The food tastes good, but the portions are incredibly small and have very low sodium levels. I have been on jenny Craig before, so I know it works. The only problem with Jenny Craig is you have to be "well to do" in order to do it. There are no programs for those people that don't make alot of money. Alot of the people in the country that battle obesity are hard working people that have to live paycheck to paycheck, and something like Jenny Craig that requires you to spend $336 to $504 (I was quoted 12-18 dollars a day for food) a month on food just for yourself is like that impossible dream to most. Jenny Craig was a great plan for me.  You are assigned a consultant who sees you through your entire weightloss and maintenance program.  When you are at your goal, you become a lifetime member.   They are there 24/7 for you for support, cheering,you on during  hard times and good. They help plan your meals with you and assist  for anticpated difficult times like certain social events.
