Over the winter, I got lazy and ended up gaining some weight. I tried to lose it on my own but just couldn't stick to a diet. Finally, on my birthday, I decided to give myself a present and went to Jenny Craig Weight Loss Center. I am a lifetime member so I am able to go in without paying a registration fee and only pay for the food. While I was there, I noticed a pair of Jenny Craig 2 lb. Hand Weights. These weights actually go on your hands like a glove and are perfect for adding resistance while walking. I bought a pair for around $22 and absolutely love them!
About these weights...
These 2 lb. weights consist of a comfortable, durable neoprene lining that contours to your hand shape. The Hand Weight is secured with two Velcro wrist straps and one Velcro palm strap. The need to grip or hold weight is eliminated. One size fits all and they are hand washable.
What I think about them...
These weights are exactly what I need since I am just starting out on my diet and exercise routine. I often take brisk walks and now it is so easy to add resistance while doing so. At first, I had a little trouble figuring out how to put them on but after a few times, I was able to put them on with little effort. The package includes an easy to understand instruction sheet. When I put them on for the first time, I was amazed at how comfortable they felt. I was expecting the weights to move up and down on my hand while I was swaying my arms but I was very impressed at how well they stayed in place. The only trouble I had was trying to drink out my water bottle with the weights on. I couldn't do it and had to take one off. Small price to pay for the effectiveness that I get out of these. 2 lbs. per hand may not sound like a lot of weight but it is perfect for those of us who are just starting out. It is just enough weight to help tone and strengthen my arms. After walking, I could definitely feel it in my arms. After about a week, I could actually see results. I don't only use these weights while walking; I also use them to do exercises at home. I work on my biceps, triceps, and do butterflies.
My final viewpoint...
These Jenny Craig 2 lb. Hand Weights are a great product for walking, aerobics class, martial arts, and light resistance training. They are comfortable and durable. I recommend these to anyone who wants to incorporate some light resistance into his or her exercise routine. I am giving these weights a 4 star rating.
