My husband and I were at the grocery store today purchasing some meat at the deli counter when something new caught my eye.  It was Jennie O Deli Premium Seasoned Sun Dried Tomato Turkey Breast. That seemed like an odd combination so I had to try it.  The man working behind the counter offered us a piece to sample and assured us that there was no going back once we tried it.  He said that he thought it was the best turkey he ever tasted and that it was a popular item.  He was right.  We loved it and purchased a pound of it for $5.98.

My Experience

The texture of deli turkey is very important to me. I absolutely cannot eat it if it has a slimy feel like some brands of turkey have. This Jennie O turkey has a drier texture which I really like. The taste of this turkey is slightly sweet and slightly tangy at the same. The sundried tomato flavor comes from the seasoned coating and tastes sooo good. My nine year old son tried a slice and I didn't think sun dried tomato would be something he would like but he loved it so much he asked to have a sandwich. My six year old eats it by the slice as a snack. Even though there is a little bit of a bite to this turkey, it doesn't phase my kids at all.

My Final Viewpoint

Jennie O Deli Premium Seasoned Sun Dried Tomato Turkey Breast is great tasting, low in calories and fat and is affordable.  I definitely recommend it and am giving it a 4 star rating. I would have went with 5 but took 1 star off due to the high sodium.

I haven't been able to find it where I live either. I have written Jenny O to see if they can give me a list of stores that do carry it. I will let you know what they say. Let's hope we can find it!! :)

I can't find Sun Dried Tomato turkey breast in my stores anymore. What stores carry it now? Wal-Mart does not, and I live in a small town. Suggestions?

My name is Connie, I live in Russell Springs KY, i tried the Sun Dried Turkey Breast and i love it, my Son and my Husband are so hooked on it, every time i go to the grocery they always let me know that we are almost out and to get more. I am also trying to loose weight, the turkey is low in everything you need when loosing weight. Try this, I take a slice of rye bread, cut it in half, add some mayo and letuce and the turky and you have a healthy snack, and the flovor of the rye and the turkey are supurb, try it. my only Con is that i wish it was cheaper, at the store i shop at it is $7.00 a pound, (kroger) but i can't find it anywhere else. Anyway happy eating.

Mmmm...now that sounds yummy! I never would have even thought of the combination of turkey and sun-dried tomatoes. But after reading your review, I definitely want to try it!

I might have to give this a try, though the price per pound might give me pause. Thank you for sharing.
