Pretty to look at but performance lacking.

Comments about Jenn-Air 4.5 Quart 10-Speed Attrezzi Stand Mixer:

I purchased Jenn-Air's  stand mixer because of it's reputation with ranges. I am somewhat disappointed. It is very pretty, copper with large etched frosted glass bowl with a pour spout, so I can leave it out on the counter, However, it is extremely heavy (40#) and very difficult to move. It also does not mix small amounts or whip only 1-2 eggwhites, as the beaters do not come down far enough to almost touch the bottom of the bowl, I have to scrape the bowl frequently when using it. It works great for large recipes or bread making, and has a very powerful motor, but I still have to use a hand mixer for small jobs.

Stylish, Minimalist, highly functional and sadly broken

Comments about Jenn-Air 4.5 Quart 10-Speed Attrezzi Stand Mixer:

***Bottom-Line***: Stylish and functional the **Jenn-Air Attrezzi JSM900 Stand Mixe**r-whatever color you choose-will make a welcome addition to any kitchen counter if it doesn't break!

I do most of the cooking in our household, but I was somewhat limited in my ability to bake from scratch because I lacked the one essential tool lusted after by all accomplished cooks; a stand mixer.   So, I have been hinting around to my wife that I needed one in order to expand my cooking and baking roundtable so to speak.  But the price of the nicer models has always kept me-and my wife-from taking to plunge.  But this Christmas my wife surprised me with Etched/ Antique Copper **Jenn-Air Attrezzi JSM900 Stand Mixe**r.

I love the color of this mixer!  It doesn't match the rest of the kitchen but the darn thing is good looking.  And heavy.  The weight of the **Jenn-Air Attrezzi JSM900 Stand Mixer** is the second thing I noticed; this baby is heavy, and decidedly minimalist in design.  All of the controls for the mixer are situated on the top of the motor air in a rotary design with numbered LED's to indicate the speed; there are 10 LED's in all.  A simple start/stop push button turns the mixer off and on.

The clear etched bowl is deep, light, dishwasher and microwave oven safe, and features two contoured handles and a lip in the front for easy pouring.  The tempered glass bowl itself does not actually move like mixers of old; the attachment(s) rotates around the bowl.   Speaking of attachments, there are three multi-purpose steel accessories-a flat beater, wire whip, and dough hook.  These attachments should be enough to tackle any job one might throw at the **Jenn-Air Attrezzi JSM900 Stand Mixer** and they too are dishwasher safe.

**My Viewpoint**** **

Believe or not, the first thing I "mixed" was a batch of mashed potatoes.  Using the flat beater attachment is whipped up a bowlful of creamy, cheesy, mashed potatoes to complement my slow roasted beef round roast.  They turned out perfectly; light fluffy, creamy and delicious.  So long store bought boxed mashed potatoes, hello home-made perfection.

Adding ingredients is easy because the motor arm moves completely out of the way of the bowl, even with an attachment, well attached.  Just make sure you have plenty of clearance.

Clean up is easy.  Even though the mixer bowl and attachments are both dishwasher safe, I washed the bowl by hand because it is a bit large for my dishwasher.  I only soaked it for about five minutes before washing.  As I stated above, the tempered glass bowl is large, but light.

**Concluding Viewpoint**

I was very happy with my **Jenn-Air Attrezzi JSM900 Stand Mixer**** **until it broke that is.  One day the motor would not turn on and could not be replaced because the darn thing is no longer made (it can still be bought second hand).  *Jenn-Air*, which has been bought by *Whirlpool*, cut us a check for the purchase price of the mixer.

Yes, its heavy but that only underscores it serious nature.  Stylish and functional the mixer-whatever color you choose-will make a welcome addition to any kitchen counter.
