I am on the run all the time. I don't waste time prepping or primping. I get out of the shower and go. If I remember to brush my hair, that's a plus. If not, oh well. And this actually works for me because I have the best hair stylist in Chicago.
Jeff Meyer is exceptional. His cuts are sharp, accurate and so well lined, that I never, ever have to do anything to my hair. It all falls perfectly into place, despite myself. And his colors are rich and natural, and his highlights are fine, as he uses only the best of products. People stop and ask me all the time who cuts my hair and what did I do to get it to look this way. I go to Jeff Meyer, that's what I do. Anything else, I wouldn't even know where to begin. Hair dryer? Curling iron? Moose? Do they even make these things anymore? I don't think they do. I think they became extinct in 1973.
Sitting in the Jeff Meyer's Hair Studio is also a bit of an out of body experience. In addition to being a fantastic hair stylist, Jeff also repairs, with his specialty being painting, touching up and re-highlighting, broken artwork. (I mean, who better to color your hair than a painter?) So while you are at his studio, any number of odd pieces can be dotting the landscape. Jeff's artistic tendencies lean toward the natural exotic, so it is highly likely that you can be looking at a fiery dragon in mid-repair, next to his leopard friend with two sets of eyes. Sergio Bustamante is the artist of preference, so any number of surreal jungle fantasies are possible in this private tiny studio dense with wildlife on its way to being reborn.
If you can get an appointment, lucky you. He only takes one person at a time and does everything from hair washing to setting up the next appointment himself. It is this personal, no rush attention that always assures me that every time I see Jeff Meyer, I am in good hands. jeffmeyerhair@comcast.net
