Bought the 4-door Rubicon model and it just rocks! The Freedom top really makes having a soft top unnecessary as you have the option of removing one or more panels or the whole thing (bulky and once its off, you can't toss it in the back like the panels). The back seat is much roomier than the 2-door model and folds down flat which is very convenient. All the other off road capabilities are there and it is a great feeling driving a vehicle which can ably negotiate any weather or road conditions. The mileage isn't terrible given the size and weight of the vehicle. If you are the type that floors the gas pedal at any opportunity, then your mileage is going to tank.
You can get either automatic or standard transmission, power locks and windows (yes, the doors are still removable). The only option not available on the 4-door is the vinyl/leatherette seating. The cloth is easy to maintain but its just the matter of choice for me. The sound system is more than adequate and you can also get GPS. So there is enough bling available without breaking your budget unlike other SUV's.
All in all a great choice and last but not least, a quality American vehicle.
