Jeep Liberty - 2002 —
I received my Jeep Liberty in college and thought it was a rockin' ride. It's shiny, small enough not to be obnoxious, and got pretty good gas mileage. My thoughts have recently changed. Considering that gas is now almost $4 a gallon, the Jeep stays put in the garage on most days since it only gets 13 mpg in town. That does increase a bit to 15-17 on the highway, but since I work in town, it's not helpful. Also, when you're purchasing your Jeep and they ask if you want an extended warranty, take it. It may have cost a bit up front, but it saved me from paying $3000 for a new transmission. It did not however save me from replacing another part that controls the AC. Apparently that's a common problem in the Liberty's. Overall, she's been a good car, but I wouldn't buy her again.
