I have owned jeeps for 6 years.  I absolutely love them.  We live in Michigan so, having 4-wheel drive in the winter is a necessity.  Besides that they last forever.  My first one I bought had 160,000 and I paid 3500 dollars for it.  It has almost 300,000 miles on it and still runs.  You have to add oil on ocassion, but it still always starts right up.  My 97 jeep runs great and is at the 160,000 mile mark.  And when that ones ready to retire, I'll buy another one.
