Not just attractive but durable and versatile!
dependent on daily vehicle, appreciative of good service, value conscious, expecting good, fair service, not rich, daily driver, very happy with this product, interested in comfort

I love my 11, close to 12 year old Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0 liter.  It has just about 120,000 miles on it now and it still runs like new!  I love that is is so compact that I can fit in tiny parking spaces or zip in and out of traffic and its not like driving a giant boat.  This is also an awesome vehicle that you can take anywhere... specifically the desert or river or lake, my favorite!  You can go over dips and hills and dunes and haul other people out of the sand.  Only in a Jeep!  I also love the fact that it is an SUV so you can just speed right over those annoying speedbumps and also...

My wife bought this vehicle new in 1996 for around $19,000. She loved it but wanted a new Grand Cherokee Laredo in 2004 with all the bells and whistles. She received a couple of offers for the 1996 Jeep for around $3,000 because it was in great shape. I said no way. I had a van I did not like. I am a salesman who is on the road every day. That Jeep is still going strong today. It has over 280,000 miles on it and I do routine maintenance on it and every time I bring it to the garage they are amazed the mileage it has on it and its still running fine. I've owned two cherokees. But the first one I owned was a '96 Classic that had 350,000 miles on it. I kid you not this Jeep just never wanted to die. I finally sold it for the jeep i have now that only has 117,000, just a baby i know. I did a lot of up keep to my '96 and it paid off. Nothing that I did was ever more than repair to general wear and tear. The vehicle made several long road trips and never had any problems. No break downs or anything. Very dependable and a good value for a 4WD vehicle.

Don't but it if you have other choice

Starting from the 3rd year, all types of defects are showing and the yearly maintenance cost is app. $1,500. The worst is that this cost keeps rising year after year.

When I bought my 1998 jeep cherokee I had thought it would get better gas mileage.  However it turned out it only got 20 miles to the gallon, the same as my old minivan.  If I had know that I would have gotten another minivan and still had the room I gave up for the jeep.  I've had it for more that 6 years and it has well over 200,00 miles, as far as that part goes, I'm not disappointed.
