I have had my Jeep for 13 years now,
and have done some serious 4x4 driving with it,
and have done a cross country trip with it
last year all the way out to BurningMan.
She has 175,000+ miles on her now.
And I can tell ya, crossing the desert in a 12+ year
old American made car, did have me concerned.
Note also, I had a bunch of sculpture tied to the roof,
which caused a lot of wind drag and stress.
She performed beautifully,
and we bonded in that 5000 mile trip!

She takes me camping placed, others would never dare go.
And I have been able to pull trucks/with trailers attached,
out of the mud with it too.

Take care of the basics, oil changes and transmission
fluid changes, and these things will go for a long time.
Granted, over the years I've had, the usual water pumps,
belts, 4x4 parts, and breaks wear out. But overall, she has
taken a lick'n and still kept kicking.
