Jeep CJ7 - 1984 —

Okay, I am well aware that Renegades are no longer manufactured. Haven't been since 1986, actually. But that doesn't take away from the mystique, the lure of a classic Jeep.

No, they were never particularly reliable. Yes, they used more gasoline than, say, the Suzuki Samurai (to say nothing of higher maintenance costs). But those rounded fenders, the fullness of the body ... no Jeep after 1986 can compare.

So any of you who have a Renegade, save it! Recycle it! It needs to be in a home and be loved. A person who not only doesn't even own a top or doors, but drives with the windscreen down. Let the wind blow back your hair.

I'm glad you have an old CJ and love it like I do. I just restored an '84 CJ myself. FYI, it's not called a Renegade or Laredo, those are the trim packages. The models are called CJ5, CJ6, CJ7 and CJ8
