Jason's Deli - Charlotte, NC Review

I first discovered Jason's Deli at my office, where their catered business lunches make frequent appearances. The sandwich trays and lunch boxes stood out among standard catered fare, and their desserts, especially the brownies, were to die for. So when my husband and I passed a local Jason's Deli one weekend on our way shopping, I suggested we stop in for a sandwich. Now we drop in for lunch at least two weekends each month.

Eating at Jason's Deli
Our local Jason's Deli is a pretty sizeable sandwich shop, with a hectic feel. Customers order at the front counter, where they are handed small stand with a number to place on their table. The menu is extensive, featuring soups, a salad bar, prepared salads, baked potatoes, wraps, sandwiches, panini, po' boys and muffalettas. The hardest part of eating at Jason's Deli is deciding  what to get. After paying, customers can swing by the salad bar to pick up some complimentary toast, bran and corn muffins while waiting for their meal to arrive.

Jason's Deli staff work behind a long prep counter, so you can see them all preparing sandwiches in the kitchen area. On Saturdays and Sundays, the kitchen area is packed with employees taking orders, preparing catering meals and lunches. On our last visit I counted twelve people behind the counter. Our food always arrives between five and ten minutes after we order it, and the employee takes the table number and leaves napkins, forks and knives. 

The sandwiches at Jason's Deli are always fantastic, and the portions are huge. My husband and I frequently order two different sandwiches and swap out one half. We both love the turkey wrap, the chicken panini and the Santa Fe chicken sandwich. Sandwiches come with chips and a pickle.

Once we finish our meal, we like to help ourselves to the complimentary ice cream machine on our way out the door. Jason's Deli provides little half-sized cones and low-fat chocolate, vanilla or swirled ice cream. It's a sweet treat and indulging in it makes me feel like a kid again.

Cat's Bottom Line
Whether you're catering an office lunch, or just looking for a quick and filling lunch option, Jason's Deli is the place to get great food. We love the neat little "freebies" in the restaurant, including the delicious muffins and ice cream, but we keep going back to Jason's Deli because the food is fantastic and a great value. I love this place!
