Natural sun care intended just for the face!

By

Comments about Jason Sunbrellas Facial Sunblock SPF 20:

Our family is planning a trip to Hawaii next month, and I am trying to get a base tan so I won't get sunburned on our vacation.  Spring is late here in Alaska, but today is gorgeous and the temps on our back deck read 82 degrees!  Perfect weather for sun bathing, but I want to go slowly so I don't burn (my skin is pretty white from a long Alaskan winter).

The sunscreen I have been using is Jason Sunbrellas Facial Sunblock with a SPF of 20.  Jason cosmetics are dubbed as being "pure, natural & organic", (and the fewer chemicals I put on my face the better).

Jason Sunbrellas Facial Sunblock comes in a 4.5 ounce tube shaped container.  The label calls it a "Daily Facial Solar Defense Ideal for Sensitive Skin", and states that it is free of any fragrance or paraben preservatives.  The clear cap is connected with a safety seal that is easily broken, which reveals a pump style dispenser.  It generally takes two or three pumps to cover my face, so the dispenser doesn't pump out a lot of sunscreen at a time.

I was attracted to this sunscreen because it is specifically for the face, and because it is promoted as being fragrance free.  I do notice a definite scent, and while it's not particularly likeable, the odor isn't real noticeable once the lotion is rubbed in.  This is a medium thick cream that absorbs into my dry skin very easily and quickly, and it leaves NO greasiness beind.  When I apply some sunscreens I feel like I have to wipe my hands before using them, but not in this case, I love the consistency and texture of this sunblock.

My face is indeed sensitive, and many face creams will give me problems - such as turning my face red or causing breakouts, but I have had no such experiences with Jason Sunbrellas.  In reading the ingredient label, I am thrilled to see that this product contains aloe vera, sea kelp extract, and evening primrose oil, all ingredients that are beneficial to the skin.

I absolutely love this container!  Numerous times I have had tubes of sunscreen leak on me when they were left in the hot sun, but this one has hard sides and the pump dispenser so there is no leaking!  Yay!  This product works well, and has protected my skin from burning.

This sunblock was purchased at my local Fred Meyer store, in their natural foods department.  It is a bit more costly, but worth the added expense.
