My Jason products are piling up around here! Love them!

I go through SOOOO many sunscreen products, and as with all lotions, creams, perfumes, etc.,, I like to try different kinds. Jason products are becoming a staple around here, and this Sunbrellas one by Jason is definitely one that will be used the most. When we were in Cancun, I used this one the most because I don't like to harm the ocean with chemicals. After the first day of applying this fairly often, I was sunburn free. I sweat a lot and very easily, so was very happy to have a chemical-free sunscreen that works!! It isn't the easiest sunscreen to apply as it takes a little more to get it spread out on the skin. If you don't,it'll leave a bit of a white residue on your skin. I just rubbed it in thoroughly and it was fine. If you're one who doesn't like oily or greasy residue on your skin after applying sunscreen, then you will really love this stuff. I actually like a bit of an oil residue left on me most times, such as if I'm riding in a boat, but since we were on sand a lot, I was happy not to have residue left. My husband said that it made his eyes sting once but I never got it in my eyes so I can't verify that part. Otherwise, this Jason Sunbrellas comes pretty close to be a perfect sunscreen in my opinion.

Effective sunscreen without dangerous chemicals

4

I used to opt for whatever sunscreen was on sale; I didn't care about the brand at all. Then I did saw some articles about the dangers of parabens and other chemicals that can have harmful effects on developing endocrine systems and have been linked to various types of cancers. That scared me, because here I was insisting that the whole family slather ourselves in sunscreen before we went out each day in the summer! Ultimately, I do think the danger of the sun is worse than the danger of the chemicals, but when there's a good chemical-free option like Jason, why not choose it?  Jason uses physical sunblocks like titanium dioxide. The negatives (which is why I'm giving it only 4 stars) are the cost (higher than your baisc Coppertone or drugstore brand); availability (harder to find); and the consistency. It's thick and very white, leaving your skin with a ghostly pallor. It's also harder to apply because of the thickness, and that can be a big drawback with squirmy little ones. But for days that we're out in the sun a lot, I feel better using Jason with physical sunblockers, not chemicals with unknown or potentially dangerous side effects.

A safe and effective sunscreen for all ages

Jason Sunbrellas Natural Sun Care Mineral Based Physical Sunscreen.......it's a great product! I originally chose this product because it was listed as a good choice on a website that tested sunscreens for their safety factors on children. Having a fair-skinned one-year-old who will be spending her first summer at a pool, I was looking for a product that would not only be effective but also not have any harmful ingredients in the product. Jason sunblock products, especially this one, fits the category for safe and effective. I purchased a 30+ SPF sunblock. This product has no parabens, is "ideal for sensitive skin" and is hypo-allergenic. This product also uses zinc oxide as one of the main ingredients, and not ozybezene, which is not recommended for children yet is found in so many sunscreen products. Note that this product is a sunBLOCK, not a sunscreen, so it effectively prevents sun burns by acting as a reflective agent to the sun. Meaning, it goes on white and thick. Overall, a great product that I feel good about using.

A really wonderful sunblock for the whole family.

I've been using this sunblock for about two years now. I first started searching for an more natural sunblock for my children that is designed for sensitive skin. I ended up with a very versatile sunblock for the whole family. We use the Jason sunblock for both the adults and children in our family. The Jason Sunbrella's lotion is chemical free, fragrance free, and paraben free. It also offers complete UVA and UVB protection. This sunblock has a light scent to it that is pleasant. It goes on slightly white, with good coverage, and then absorbs rather quickly. The price is competitive with other chemical sunblocks in the market. I've never had a problem with the Jason sunblock and is long lasting. The Jason sunblock is water resistant but I always reapply after being in the water. The Jason sunblock can leave temporary white streaks on clothing. These streaks quickly wipe off or wash out in the washing machine.

Great sun protection in a gentle natural formula

I wore this sunscreen to the beach and didn't burn at all.  I didn't have to reapply it in the whole 5 hours we were there, even after going in the water. I love this sunscreen.  It protects well, even in harsh conditions.  I have olive-tone skin and do not sunburn easily, for the record.  But this product protects my skin well.  My fairer skinned partner agrees the sun protection is excellent.  I've never used another sunblock that was as sweatproof, long-lasting, or effective in blocking UVA/UVB. The formula is a little thick--that could be a downside.  It does feel like you are slathering on a heavy cream.  But it absorbs quickly into the skin.  It is not greasy or oily.  It is just, well, thick.  You really need to rub it in. I think this is partly because Jason uses only natural ingredients.  There are no chemicals like in other sunscreens and it is hypoallergenic and non-comodogenic.  That makes this sunscreen great for people with sensitive skin and safe for use on the face and other sensitive body parts.  This formula is also safe for the whole family...even kids!
