Japonais - Chicago, IL Review

I have been to Japanois four times since they opened.  It is a see or been seen kind of place where everyone is to cool for school.  Too loud for my taste.   The food is good but not great.  The only dish that stands out in my mind is the hot stone with steak tar tar where you sizzle your own meat dish.  Pretty cool, but ultimately a gimmick.  The sushi is good, but if you really want sushi go to Kaze, or Coast.

If you are young and hip, or old and want to feel hip or generally  on the prowl or like to watch people on the prowl, than by all means pay the premium and been seen.
