Janome Heart Truth HT 2008 LE Sewing Machine Review

I am not one to spend lots of money on stuff I might not use every day, but I also don't buy just anything.  I wanted a new sewing machine for my on again/off again quilting projects.  I was thinking of saving up for a Bernina because I wanted to upgrade from just simple forward and reverse stitching.

I had used a Bernina in a local quilting shop and was pretty impressed by the abilities, but not by the $800 price tag.  On a whim I drove 20 miles to the quilting store with the Janomes.  It was 15 minutes before the place was going to close on a Saturday.  The owner was super helpful and just explained to me what the Janome Heart Truth HT 2008 LE could do--EVERYTHING!  It has twice as many stiches for half the price as the cheapest Bernina.  I walked out, thought for a moment, and went back in and bought this machine.  I didn't want to wait 2 years to get a machine that didn't do as much stuff.

Nice features that are better than on the Bernina: 1/4 inch foot that won't let you make a mistake unless you try, see through bobbin cover, close thread cutter and simple to use button hole feature.  I have had it for just over a year and couldn't be happier.  It is smooth, not too big, and can do a LOT of stuff.

For the price of three cleanings or a couple of machine tunings, I have a brand new machine instead of my clunky hand-me-downs.
