I just have to say, I love my sewing machine. My husband bought it for me a couple of years ago and it still runs like a slick oiled machine. I have yet to have an issue with it. It sews through many many layers of material. Even thick denim layers. Putting in a button hole has never been easier. Threading the machine is easy and I NEVER have to worry about tension. I never have to worry about the seam either, unless "I" sew not in a straight line. I need to get back into sewing, but with moving, all my fabric is in a boxes piled into a closet. If you want a good machine to grow with, I would get a Janome 4400. But, anything by Janome will give you wonderful customer service! You will get a great warranty and they honor their warranties! Also, if you get it from a quilt shop, they will even give you free classes so you can learn on your machine! So, husbands go get your wife a Janome 4400 and I promise you, she will love you even more!
