This weekend in my house the boys were with their Dad so I decided to rent a few 'chick flicks'.  Turned out to be Jane Austen weekend...  I started with Becoming Jane which I had high hopes for.  I was not terribly impressed.  The next night I popped in Jane Austen Book Club not expecting too much.  What a wonderful surprise!  It was sweet, funny, romantic, quick moving and of course some great looking men!  I laughed, I got sentimental, and it sent me to the Library today to pick up 'Emma'.  There were so many different relationship stories going on in it with a few twists as well. ... review »

My wife had me put The Jane Austen Book Club into the Netflix que.  We watched it a few days ago on a plane ride.  I have to say I thought it was pretty funny and quite well done.  It is no Bruce Willis movie, but I enjoyed it.  The acting and characters are better than the story itself, but I thought it was clever and poignant at times with a few unexpected turns.  I don't think any action movie guy is going to sit around and watch this alone but if your mate suggests it, put up a small fight, make her promise that next time you can rent Die Hard IV, and then actually enjoy it.....
