JanSport SuperBreak Backpack —

Quick View: I bought a set of JanSport Luggage in the Chocolate Chip Bubbles Design and with it, I also bought a JanSport SuperBreak Backpack in the same design. The backpack is fine but has no construction or frame. It's fine for what I use it for but wouldn't be big enough or durable enough for rough camping conditions, I don't think.

About the JanSport SuperBreak Backpack

I have owned other Jansport backpacks that were made for hiking and camping. This one doesn't seem to be. It's very colorful for sure and can hold a ton of stuff.

The backpack is 16.75" x 13" x 8.5" - roomy for a "book bag" but not for a camping type pack. It weighs just 12 ounces. It is made of 600 Denier Polyester and the shoulder straps are nicely padded and adjustable. There is a large outer pocket with an organizer built in that can hold quite a bit of stuff and the back of the pack is 2/3 padded for comfort when carrying books or other hard objects.

I use my JanSport SuperBreak Backpack to carry small items, personal supplies when on a trip, my ever present journals, and sometimes, I use it as a beach bag. It can hold a towel, sunscreen, change of clothes, makeup bag, sunglasses, my iPod, my cell phone, and a lot of other stuff. It's not bothered by dampness so I don't have to worry about that when at the lake or beach.

The bag opens really wide to fit everything in. I could actually carry my smaller laptop in the bag but it's not padded enough for me to feel comfortable doing that. When I put it on my shoulders, the padded straps are comfy and my back doesn't hurt nor is it poked by any hard objects in the back because most of the pack is padded.

The bag will stand up even filled with soft stuff like clothing but it has no feet on the bottom. It's made well and can take a beating. In at least 25 patterns a few solid colors, one of these bags will catch your eye. I consider the bag a more feminine one but only because of the designs. There is a cool skull bag that I could picture a young teen boy carrying though and the solid colors would be great for anyone.

In all, this backpack is great for books (which is what these things originally were made for), toting exercise clothes and accessories to the gym, traveling by car or plane, or as an extra bag when you're taking a big trip. I always need extra bags when I go anywhere which is why I bought the JanSport SuperBreak Backpack in the same design as my luggage. I fill it up with all my personal supplies, blow dryer, brushes, curling iron, body wash, etc. I have a toiletry bag for the guys but I need more than THAT! Even for a weekend!

This bag is around $25.00 to $35.00 but is often on sale at www.ebags.com, especially if you go for the discontinued designs. I believe you can pick one up one of those now for about $19.00. That's a great price for a bag that's versatile, durable, and cute. It's not big enough to use as your ONLY bag when hiking or camping but it has a ton of other uses.

My Viewpoint

I rarely carried a backpack before but my JanSport SuperBreak Backpack is a great addition to my JanSport luggage and also carries all my stuff back and forth when I go anywhere. It has no frame so it it folds down almost completely flat. I have brought my empty pack in my luggage and filled it with souvenirs and other things I picked up on vacation rather than bringing home a bunch of random plastic bags. There are many uses for this backpack but if you need a huge camping pack with a frame, this one won't do. 4 stars.

My friend's youngest daughter, my snugglebunny, had this same exact backpack last year for school. She had matching Nikes to complete the back-to-school look ;+)
