Jamaica Review

For those of you who love the sand and sea, Jamaica is for you! The people are always smiling, the food is fabulous and the Caribbean is breathtaking. All the major airlines service this island as well as Air Jamaica and always be on the lookout for special fares. Don't just settle for staying in Montego Bay. Venture out to Ocho Rios or Negril where the beaches are less crowded. Make sure to visit the local straw markets and bargain for the best prices with the locals. Surf the net for your own deals on rooms but be aware that a standard room is just that. This is a third world country and standard means a room with a decent bed and a hot shower. I typically stay in a place that offers standard in Ocho Rios, (Sand Castles Resort) and have never had a problem with it because I know what to expect. I'm not there for luxury, I'm there for fun in the sun. Jamaica is laid back and tons of fun where you can vacation from incredibly cheap to extravagant. It's all in what you are looking for. If you are going with a group of people I would suggest renting a villa. Most come with a cook, maid and gardner. You will have to rent a car if you do this, though. No matter where you stay in Jamaica there is plenty to do. I've been 3 times with my 4th trip coming up in less than 2 weeks. I'm ready to continue my explorations of this incredible island.

As always, when you are travelling be aware of your surroundings and keep your purse next to your body. There is crime everywhere even in friendly Jamaica. The crime there is no worse than any other place that you would travel to.
