When my child asked for this toy, I first wondered what it was.  After much research, I became interested.  This is a great educational toy.  It encourages budding scientists and further studies.  It is always great when children can have fun and learn at the same time!  Kept him and his friends interested for days.  I liked looking for interesting items to view along with him.

You have got to check out this Jakks EyeCops!  This toy is amazing.  With it your kids (and you) can hook it up to the TV and magnify anything 200X's.  I can not wait to set it up on Christmas morning!!!!!

I highly recommend this product, shop around some sites have better deals than others.

Impressive gadget but novelty wears thin fast

When I initially saw this product on the shelf it appeared like the perfect toy to stimulate an inquisitive mind such as the one inhabiting the head of my 5-year old.  Sure enough, when he received it as a gift he was very excited to open it and begin using it.  Five minutes later, it was cast aside, probably never to be touched again. 

The gadget itself is not difficult to use.  5 AA batteries are required to power the device and the video output plugs directly into the TV (many sets have an input for the RCA video cable on the front so that you don't have to mess around in the back of the...

EyeClops Bionic Eye was given to my 7 year old for his birthday in August.  He has always loved the microscope but it was hard to see and control lighting conditions.  After opening the EyeClops he played with it for about an hour, the cord is very long and the "cup" that comes with it is great for smaller things like salt or bugs.  He enjoyed this toy quite a bit, at first.  There are only so many things you can look at in a day, or week.  While four months later he still does use it occasionally for new items it is rarely used.  I would highly recommend it if you have the extra money for... review »

This is a great toy.  I bought this for my son who is 5 and he is constantly wanting to look at things he finds outside and around the house.  The image is very good and he has really enjoyed it as well as his parents.  One cord is all you need to plug this into the tv.  We have looked at bugs, wood, a splinter, pencils, dog hair, human hair, orange peeling, banana peeling, appleseeds, pumkin skin.

This is lots of fun, plug right into the tv, and look at everything under microscope, a little gross looking at scars and things like that but but amazing quality.
